The Twang's new single, We're A Crowd, will be released on February 13th, 2012. It is the lead single from their upcoming third studio album, called 10:20. The Twang has announced a UK tour, which will take place throughout February 2012 and continue into March 2012. The band is continuing their tradition of playing weekend concerts.
The video for We're A Crowd was directed by Alex Armstead and it sees the band playing on a roof of a building in the heart of London. They are accompanied by Barry Fratelli on bass, instead of their usual bass player Jon Watkin.
Also in The Twang are Phil Etheridge (vocals); Martin Saunders (vocals) and Matty Clinton (drums). They formed in 2001 but didn't release their debut album until 2007. Early in their career, they were known as Neon Twang. Despite interest and numerous meetings with major record labels, The Twang eventually signed to B-Unique (The Automatic; Kaiser Chiefs).
We're A Crowd was written in the summer of 2011; coincidentally, at the same time as the London riots were taking place a mere ten minutes away from the band's studio. However, the song wasn't directly written as a response to the riots.
