The big prize you get for winning The X Factor has always been an enormous record deal, plus the exposure and immediate fan base created by the show which is meant to ensure instant success. However, as the series have gone on, missing out on being the top of the pile doesn't mean you miss out on the rest of the fun, this year has proven it more than ever as runner up Jahmene Douglas has signed a deal with Sony, and both Union J and Ella Henderson have also been snapped up by the same company, and neither of them even made it to the final week.

Twitter is still the dominant platform for celebs to express their emotions and there's no change for these artists. Jahmene said:

After the news of her deal with Sony Records being announced on an Irish television show, and fans showering her with virtual love, she tweeted her thanks saying:

Union J broke the news on DayBreak with Lorraine Kelly, they said: "Obviously when we came out of the show the dream was to get a record deal and we're going to Sony today to sort out all the contracts and stuff... Before Christmas we will have our deal finalised," reports the Mirror. They are also up for a Celebritain prize, against their X Factor competitors, District 3.

Fans of both Union J and Ella Henderson started trending the news with hashtags #UnionJsignedtoSony and #EllaSignedTOSONY, the latter which topped worldwide trends on Twitter.
