The new series sees familiar faces back on the judging panel.
ITV have confirmed that the new series of ‘The X Factor’ will return on Saturday 27 August 2016 at 8pm and Sunday 28 August at 8pm. The new series sees the return of original judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, as well as former judge Nicole Scherzinger, alongside Simon Cowell.

A short teaser for the series has also been released, giving a glimpse of some hopefuls as well as the judges’ reactions, set to Girls Aloud’s ‘Something Kinda Ooh’. The show will be hoping to return to form this series after suffering low ratings last year.
Last year’s decline in viewers meant a shake-up was needed, including the new judging panel and the return of host Dermot O’Leary. Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw both announced their departures from the show earlier this year after just one series.
Singer Cheryl also left the judging panel to concentrate on her recording career. The empty seats meant that previously axed judge Louis Walsh was welcomed back, alongside Sharon Osbourne who left in 2013 and Nicole Scherzinger who was last seen in 2014.
The show’s 2015 series was hosted by Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, who previously helmed spin-off series ‘The Xtra Factor’. But the duo suffered from a number of blunders during the live shows and fans called for Dermot O’Leary to come back as host.
O’Leary had left the show in 2014 after seven years, but he’s now back and said to have signed one of the biggest deal’s in TV history, for a reported $8million. Viewers are also keen to see who’s been recruited as guest judges for the Judges’ Houses round.
It’s previous been reported that Cheryl could be making a return appearance, alongside Simon Cowell at his LA mansion. Other rumoured names include Louis Tomlinson, who helped out on ‘America's Got Talent’ and Liam Payne. Robbie Williams’ name as also been mentioned, as the guest of friend Sharon Osbourne.
