Two of the biggest voices in modern comedy have landed another two slots at one of the biggest award ceremonies in the business. Having successfully helmed the Golden Globes, Tina Fey and are set to do it again, and again!

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have enjoyed a fruitful comedy partnership

"Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season," said Paul Telegdy, president, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. "We're elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years."

While this is great news for fans of the comedy duo’s work, it does rule them out of the Oscars 2015 conversation. Following their hosting success, they were rumoured to be the follow up to 2014’s rather spineless decision of Ellen DeGeneres as host, but that can’t really happen now.

"I think the Oscars is just such a bigger task," Fey told The Hollywood Reporter while they were doing their Globes preparation. "To sing and dance and do the pre-taped segments and all that stuff."

Their first go at the Globes was a resounding success, They attracted a six-year high in viewing figures, with 19.7m total viewers, and managed to stay on the right side of the critics, who, unlike they did with Seth Macfarlane’s Oscars performance, thought it was a night of rip-roaring fun, at the nominees expense, of course.

“We are thrilled Amy and Tina have decided to return as hosts of the Golden Globe Awards for the next two years,” said HFPA president Theo Kingma. “Their return ensures that the Golden Globes will once again be the biggest, best and most entertaining awards celebration of the year.”

“Tina and Amy have a truly unique chemistry, making them one of the most talented and captivating pairings of all time,” added Dick Clark Productions CEO Allen Shapiro. “We are thrilled to have them back in 2014 and 2015.” Popular choices indeed.
