According to popular opinion, the powerhouse comedy duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey did a fantastic job of hosting the Golden Globes. Fortunately the women, who coined the lyrics “I dreamed a dream of dadada/And then I went to make a sandwich” and the “Neil Patrick Harris, take off your pants!” sketch, have been approached for another turn at the event and have even been invited back for a third time in 2015, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The ladies will be back at the 2014 and 2015 Golden Globes.

As for hosting the Oscars, however, that’s a whole other story. In a recent interview, Fey spoke about what is arguably the biggest, most publicized award show in the business, to the effect that she and Poehler would not be interested due to the more restrictive nature of the Oscars. It is a widely known fact that the Golden Globes give their hosts, as well as the writers, a higher degree of creative freedom. In fact, for the 2013 Golden Globe, Fey and Poehler brought in a team of writers and actors, who made the entire affair resemble a Saturday Night Live reunion, enlisting Seth Meyers, writer Robert Carlock (who also worked with Fey as showrunner on "30 Rock") and "Saturday Night Live" producer Mike Shoemaker for help.

The Golden Globe stage is much more lucrative than the Oscars, apparently.

"The idea was, 'Let’s get some jokes. Let’s read them. Let’s not overthink it. If there’s one that doesn’t work, get rid of it and just come up with something better,'" Fey said in an interview with "And it ended up being so much fun."

As opposed to the Oscars, which, besides being less fun, are also not as well paid – the idea being that the honor of hosting the prestigious event should be enough. Apparently, it’s not enough for the comedienne, however, which is why we may never see Fey presenting on the Oscars stage.
