Tinie Tempah's mum still tells him off when he's ''acting up''.

The 26-year-old musician has revealed his parents and three siblings keep him grounded despite the fact he's a chart-topping artist, as they still treat him the same way they did before he was famous.

He said: ''I've got real people around me. My mum will tell me if I'm acting up. She even tells me when there's too much profanity in a song.''

The 'Pass Out' hitmaker continued to say it took a long time for his family to come around to the idea of him being a rapper, and his mum continues to question, ''But when are you going to university?''

He explained: ''To make matters worse, I'm not in my siblings' graduation photographs. I was always off on tour.''

However the star - named the best dressed man by 'GQ' in 2012 - admitted he is grateful he has a solid family unit around him in a world of excess.

He told The Times newspaper: ''Fame can be tough to deal with ... you are propelled into an upper echelon where everyone feeds your ego and you get whatever you want. You know, 'You want two? Take three!' But in reality you want what you who haven't got.

''You have a girlfriend and you wish you were single, you're old and you wish you were young. That's the way life is and I'd rather deal with the problems that come with success than always wondering what it would have been like.''
