American football star and model Tom Brady joined thousands of Aerosmith fans in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday (05Nov12) as the band was honoured in the city.

The Grammy award-winning rockers performed a free street concert from the back of a trailer in front of the apartment where they began their career four decades ago.

The bandmates also signed a plaque that Boston officials plan to mount outside the building in the Allston neighbourhood.

Clearly moved by the occasion, guitarist Joe Perry stared up at the apartment he once called home and yelled, "That used to be my bedroom."

Brady and some of his New England Patriots teammates joined Aerosmith on the makeshift stage as the band arrived for the street show, during which they played hits like Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion.

The concert was partly staged to promote their new album Music From Another Dimension! on the eve of the U.S. presidential elections.

Aerosmith's 'Pre-Election Day Party' kicks off the second leg of the band's Global Warming Tour, which will get underway on Thursday (08Nov12).
