Hermitage Revealed documents the 250 years of Russia's State Hermitage Museum. It combines old film with scenes of the current art and architecture of the museum in this impressive and immersive documentary. Filmed specifically for the cinema, Hermitage Revealed focuses on bringing a new high definition tour of the museum, including areas which the general public would not be permitted to usually. This combines to bring the full scope of history and excellence which this famously old and bustling museum. Not only does the film show some of the 3 million treasures housed in the museum, but it also takes the audience on a journey through time to learn the history of some of Russia's most famous relics.
With more than 2.8 million visitors per year, Hermitage has cemented itself as one of the greatest museums in the world, and is now hoping to branch out and bring the exhibits to people around the world with this in-depth introduction to the wonderful world and history of Russia's collected art. Said collection contains wondrous pieces like Catherine the Great's private gemstone collection, and works from Michelangelo. Hermitage Revealed also includes interviews with Hermitage's curators, sculptors and architects, as well as personal and touching stories from survivors of the Siege of Lenningrad.
