Tom Cruise's huge lawsuit with the tabloids has come to an end.

The 51 year-old's lawsuit against Bauer Media Group, who publish magazine's 'InStyle' and 'In Touch' has been resolved in a California Federal Court on Friday (Dec 20th), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

No details of the dismissal were released but the opposing parties want the case dismissed with prejudice, meaning Cruise can't refile the lawsuit.

The 'Mission Impossible' actor sued the publisher after it reported Cruise had abandoned his 7 year-old daughter Suri, in October 2012.

At the time the documents were filed his longtime attorney Bert Fields said, "Tom doesn't go around suing people. He's not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he's going to sue."

The magazines that run the story claimed he became distant from Suri after his divorce from Katie Holmes, the 'In Touch' article began by saying, "It's been 44 days (at press time) since Tom Cruise has been photographed with his daughter Suri, last spotted together at Disney World on Aug 4th."

Fields released a statement to E!News that read, "Tom Cruise's lawsuit against Bauer Publishing, In Touch and Life & Style magazines has been settled."

"The terms of the settlement were not disclosed and remain confidential. Bauer Publishing, as well as In Touch and Life & Style magazines, never intended to communicate that Tom Cruise had cut off all ties and abandoned his daughter, Suri, and regret if anyone drew that inference from anything they published."

The fight therefore is now come to an end and both parties have settled it out of the courtroom.
