The 19 year-old Olympic diver admitted that in "an ideal world I wouldn't be doing this video because it wouldn't matter," but explained he'd felt compelled to record the video after being "misquoted in an interview."

"It made me feel really angry," Tom said before adding "For me honesty is important and I've always been honest. I may have been vague in some of my answers, but I've always been honest.

Tom prefaced his big announcement with his thoughts upon his successful career, the bullying he used to face at school and his father's death in 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He moved on to say: "One thing I've never really felt that comfortable with talking about is relationships [...] I've never really had a serious relationship to talk about and now I feel ready to talk about my relationships."

"They Make Me Feel So Happy": Tom Announces His New Boyfriend.

"In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy," he said with a pause.

Daley continued: "It did take me by surprise a little bit. It was always in my head that something like that could happen. But it wasn't until spring this year that things just clicked. It felt right and I thought 'Okay'. And my whole world changed there and then." He added: "Of course I still fancy girls but right now I'm dating a guy and I couldn't be happier."
