Guiry was arrested, according to , after head-butting a police officer and attempting to kick him in the face. The incident occurred at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston sometime last weekend (3-4th August).

It seems an employee of the airline Guiry was due to fly with, United Airlines, considered the 31-year-old actor too inebriated to travel. According to reports, the employee contacted the airport's police who gave Guiry two options: the 'drunk tank' or a public intoxication arrest.

Guiry appears not to have responded well to these options as, after verbally abusing and threatening the officer. The officer in question then told Guiry he was under arrest. Guiry proceeded to make matters worse for himself by attacking the officer, managing to head-butt him and attempting to kick him in the face.

Fortunately, the police officer only suffered minor injuries. A spokesperson for the Houston police department has since confirmed Guiry was arrested and the reported details are correct.

Following Guiry's arrest, he was charged with felony assault on a police officer, and was released after posting the $5000 bail.

Guiry is best known for his appearance in The Sandlot: a 1993 coming of age film following the lives of a group of pre-teen baseball players. At the age of eleven, Guiry starred in the movie alongside Mike Vitar (The Mighty Ducks), Patrick Renna (The X-Files) and Chauncey Leopardi (Freaks and Geeks).

More recently, Guiry has starred in such films as Black Hawk Down and Mystic River

It is not known when Guiry will appear in court to address his charges and his representatives have declined to comment.
