Tom Hardy Inks Leonardo DiCaprio's Name On Him After Losing Bet

Tom Hardy Leonardo Dicaprio

Tom Hardy has stayed true to his word and apparently gone and got a tattoo dedicated to his friend and co-star Leonardo Dicaprio, after losing a bet two years ago at the 2016 Academy Awards. Of course, it's no big deal for Tom, who has plenty of ink on his body already.

You can always trust Tom Hardy not to go back on an agreement. The 40-year-old actor has paid the price of making a bet with his 'The Revenant' co-star Leonardo DiCaprio by getting a tattoo on his right bicep reading 'Leo Knows All'. It seems it came after Leo bet that Tom would be nominated for an Oscar, and Tom bet that he wouldn't.

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy has taken to his Instagram account this week to tease the end of filming on his upcoming Sony movie 'Venom', in which he'll play the titular character, otherwise known as Marvel Comics' Eddie Brock. Not much has been revealed about the plot which fans will see go down when the film makes its way to the big screen, but the fact that Hardy is involved in bringing the villain to life has been enough to keep chatter and hype at a high.

With the film scheduled to make its debut in October of this year, more promotional material is expected to trickle out in the coming weeks, but Hardy has kicked things off early with his Instagram post, which you can check out below:

Tom Hardy's Secret '90s Rap Mixtape Emerges Online

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy’s fans have reacted with pleasant surprise after a long-lost ‘rap mixtape’ of music the actor made in the late 1990s re-surfaced online this week.

The 18 tracks on the recording were made in demo form in 1999, but have never seen the light of day until now. A man named Edward Tracy – calling himself Eddie Too Tall – who wrote and produced the set posted it on Bandcamp earlier this week.

Hardy – known and credited under his rap pseudonym ‘Tommy No.1’ – is listed as the writer and performer of the lyrics.

Riz Ahmed Reportedly In Talks With Sony For 'Venom' Role

Riz Ahmed Tom Hardy

Riz Ahmed’s career looks like it’s continuing to go from strength to strength, with reports that the British star is in talks with Sony to star in the Spider-Man spin-off movie Venom, alongside fellow Brit Tom Hardy.

Ever since he broke through to the wider industry’s consciousness with a memorable supporting role in 2014's Nightcrawler, the 34 year old British-Pakistani actor has landed starring roles in Jason Bourne, Star Wars spin-off Rogue One and TV series ‘The OA’ and ‘Girls’.

However, Variety reports on Thursday (August 10th) that the actor is now in talks with Sony studios to star in Marvel Comics’ Venom – a film NOT related to the recent Spider-Man: Homecoming, confusingly – possibly as the extremely popular character Carnage.

Dunkirk Review

Essential

Britain's epic 1940 evacuation of Dunkirk has been dramatised on film before, but no one has taken an approach like Christopher Nolan. Not that this is a surprise, since Nolan has made a career of fiercely inventive filmmaking. But this might be his masterpiece: a relatively simple story told with creative verve, relentlessly growing intensity, emotional resonance and the weight of history.

He recounts the events on three timelines. Over the course of a week, young soldier Tommy (rising star Fionn Whitehead) finds himself on the beach at Dunkirk amid 400,000 soldiers hemmed in from behind by the Germans and looking for some way to get across the Channel to England. But every ship he finds is sunk in front of him, or under him, as German pilots drop bombs from the sky. Meanwhile over the course of one day, English yachtsman Dawson (Mark Rylance) and his sons (Tom Glynn-Carney and Barry Keoghan) head off to do what they can as part of an armada of small civilian boats. And in the sky above over the course of an hour, spitfire pilot Farrier (Tom Hardy) engages the Luftwaffe in a series of aerial battles.

Nolan skilfully edits these three time-strands together into a narrative that continually loops back on itself, showing events from different angles. It sometimes feels a bit repetitive, but that's the point, and the result is increasingly resonant as it recounts the events from three internal perspectives. In the focal roles, Whitehead, Rylance and Hardy offer distinct angles on heroism and survival. These are powerfully engaging performances that reveal men merely doing what they can in seemingly impossible situations.

Tom Holland 'Excited' About Tom Hardy's 'Venom' Movie

Tom Holland Tom Hardy

Though Marvel Studios currently have the right to bring the 'Spider-Man' property to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there has been what we imagine is a hugely complicated agreement with Sony Pictures to allow the latter company to bring a film based on the Spidey villain Venom to the big screen. Now, with confirmation that Tom Hardy will be the actor stepping into that role and a release date set for October 5, 2018, rumours and information regarding the flick are now beginning to creep into the spotlight.

We know for sure that Scott Rosenburg is writing the screenplay for the movie alongside Jeff Pinkner, and Marvel villain Carnage is looking set to take centre-stage as the primary antagonist. Aside from that and the previously-mentioned casting however, much is yet to be revealed; not surprising when the film's release is still over 12 months away.

Tom Hardy As Jafar? 'Aladdin' Remake Embroiled In 'White-Washing' Controversy

Tom Hardy Guy Ritchie

The people behind the forthcoming live action adaptation of Disney's 'Aladdin' have incited outrage on social media this week after it came out that Tom Hardy was in talks to play the villainous Jafar. Understandably, the actor is now in the midst of 'white-washing' accusations.

While Tom Hardy would no doubt make an excellent nemesis of Aladdin, the point is that this is arguably yet another example of Hollywood snubbing diverse actors in favour of white stars despite the context of the actual story. It's still a rumour, however, and there may be Asian actors in talks yet - but Tom is a big favourite of 'Aladdin' director Guy Ritchie.

Dunkirk Trailer

In one of the biggest military disasters in British history, 400,000 soldiers found themselves stranded on the beaches of Dunkirk in France in 1940 in the midst of World War II. Their journey was about releasing the allied France from the grip of the Germans, but when they find themselves surrounded by enemy forces, with nowhere left to hide their options become limited. Determined not to surrender to the Nazis, an incredible emergency evacuation begins as bomb after bomb is dropped on the fleeing men. The Royal Air Force and British Navy vessels rush to the aid of their trapped troops, as well as boats from brave civilians, and together they manage to save over 300,000 men from the terrifying attack in Operation Dynamo.

Harry Styles Tom Hardy Christopher Nolan Mark Rylance Cillian Murphy

On Friday the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming WWII epic Dunkirk dropped, showing us our first glimpses of the Dark Knight director’s first film since 2014’s Interstellar. But for some, Dunkirk is about something else entirely, because the film features the acting debut of One Direction’s Harry Styles.

Daniel Craig Refuses To Be Drawn On James Bond Future

Daniel Craig James Bond Idris Elba Damian Lewis Tom Hardy

With the release of the highly-anticipated Spectre now imminent, Daniel Craig seems to have changed his tune about the prospects of continuing to be James Bond after recently landing himself in hot water after saying rather “slash his wrists” than play 007 again.

That is to say, he now says he “doesn’t really care” about who will take over as the British spy when he eventually finishes. In the last fortnight, rumours have maintained that Craig has reversed his position and signed up for two more Bond films.

However, when interviewed by The Sun, the 47 year old actor refused to be drawn on what decision he had made. “I have the right to change my mind any time I want to, and sometimes I say things like I did two days after finishing shooting for eight months. I said what was on my mind. That’s the way I’ve always spoken,” he said matter-of-factly.
