Tom Hiddleston has been having his say on Thor: The Dark World.
Tom Hiddleston - perhaps the surprise face of Marvel's new generation of movies - has spoken of the thorny relationship between his treacherous Loki and Chris Hemsworth's heroic Thor.
Tom Hiddleston Plays Loki in Thor: The Dark World
In Thor: The Dark World, the pair are forced to band together to fight Christopher Eccleston's Malekith the Accursed and Hiddleston spoke of the emotion underpinning their rocky relationship in conversation with Digital Spy this week.
"There was a deep hidden love between brothers that was then polluted and distorted by the events of the first film," Hiddleston opined "It's something that Thor continues to appeal to, even though the rest of the Avengers dismiss Loki as a psychopath."
"In this situation [in Thor: The Dark World], Thor has let go of that affection, and that puts Loki in a very different position."
Continuing the subject in an interview with Collider, Hiddleston explained, "The idea of there being a Loki solo film is some kind of concoction and I can tell you there is no movement on it..But I'd have to have a big brainstorm with Kevin Feige about it, if it ever came around. I do agree with you that Loki defines himself in opposition to Thor. There is not Thor without Loki, there is no Loki without Thor and that's part of his nature, that he defines himself in opposition to other people."

Reviews of the movie have been strong. Alonso Duralde from The Wrap thought, "Thor: The Dark World delivers the goods - action, otherworldly grandiosity, romance, humor - above and beyond its predecessor."
Amon Warmann from HeyUGuys echoed the praises as he said "Thor: The Dark World is an ambitious, thrilling and often hilarious superhero sequel. Iron Man got things off to a great start, but now Marvel's 'Phase Two' is in full swing."
Mark Adams of Screen International added, "Of all of the Marvel franchises Thor always felt the most difficult to pull off (he is a virtually indestructible God after all) but here it all ties together rather well."
Thor: The Dark World hits theaters on Friday (October 25, 2013).
