Originally led by Nicole Beharie alongside Tom Mison, supernatural drama 'Sleepy Hollow' saw some good ratings throughout its first season. As is usually the case however, ratings began to slip from season 2 and beyond, with a controversial exit for Beharie's character in season 3 turning many of the loyal fan base away from the series for good.

Despite that, showrunners did their best to bring viewers back to the show, giving a soft reboot to the series in season 4 which saw Oona Yaffe join the cast as Ichabod's right-hand woman. Moving from the titular town to Washington, D.C. in season 4, many were confused about the direction bosses were trying to take the series. Whilst we expected that would be further explained in a fifth season, it would seem that's no longer the case.

'Tremors' is set to see a TV re-boot more than ten years since the original series was cancelled after 13 episodes. This time it's different though, as Kevin Bacon is set to return to the small screen having originally starred in the 90s film franchise.

It's just the latest addition to the ever growing list of television re-boots of classic horror films; some of which have turned out to be amazing and others we hope we never have to see again. This monster epic is still yet to find a network, but several are thought to be interested according to reports. Fans of crime dramas, are you sitting down? This Halloween is shaping up to be pretty special because, in the run-up to the annual spooky celebration, the cast of 'Bones' and of 'Sleepy Hollow' will briefly collide in a one-off crossover episode that will see these detectives collaborate on an unusual case.

Is Bones and Sleepy Hollow a match made in heaven?

If you don't know either of these series, here's a brief overview. 'Bones' is set in Washington, D.C. and follows the professional relationship between a forensic anthropologist called Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), who's remarkably gifted in the study of human remains and works at the Jeffersonian Institute Medico-Legal Lab, and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). Together, the pair team together to solve various murder cases.

No, no one has cast a spell on us; no headless horseman has threatened us to say this. If you're a fan of the show and have been following the first season then you'll just get it. Sleepy Hollow, recently renewed for a second season, rather than flounder on the pile of other dodgy TV remakes, has provided some top class watching this year and the fans have responded in their droves to cement the "breakout hit of the fall season."

Hell, even the top producer was floored by the response: "Frankly, I'm stunned and elated," executive producer Alex Kurtzman tells TVGuide.com. "Our jaws were on the floor. We kind of can't believe it. The whole energy surrounding Sleepy Hollow from the fans is just extraordinary and the thing you dream of."

It was a pretty simple decision for Fox who, having seen how popular the first three episodes were, went straight for the second season option.

Fox's new drama Sleepy Hollow appears to have come out of nowhere. It premiered this week to rave reviews from critics, though can it maintain the quality and eclipse - or at least match - the likes of Game of Thrones?

It stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, who wakes up over 200 years in the future and meets Sleepy Hollow police lieutenant Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie). Together, they attempt to stop the headless horseman who is actually a very famous horseman - the fourth horseman of the Apocalypse from the Book of Revelations to be precise.

Viewers of the first season premiere will already know that Sleepy Hollow tells a very different story to Washington Irving's classic tale.

Sleepy Hollow's pilot appears to be a success, despite some critics' grumblings. The episode aired last night, Monday 16th September, on Fox.

In Fox's new take on Washington Irving's classic tale, Ichabod Crane awakes after two hundred years to find the town of Sleepy Hollow facing the same headless horseman he encountered centuries before. Crane teams up with police officer Abbie Mills in order to solve, what the police assume are, a series of grisly murders and not the work of one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. From the trailer it appears to be the majority of the humour is based on Crane catching up with two centuries of technological and cultural changes.
