Rock veteran Tom Petty is still suffering the effects of his famous hand injury almost 30 years later.
The singer/songwriter smashed his left hand after punching a wall in frustration during a recording session in the 1980s, and had to re-learn how to play the guitar after medics inserted metal pins into his fingers.
Petty managed to shake off the injury and continue with his rock career - but he's recently started experiencing pain in his hand.
The Free Fallin' hitmaker tells Q magazine, "I didn't notice it for the longest time, but in the last year it's started to hurt. I guess that's just down to getting old."
