Rockers Train have joined the long list of musicians offering hope and support to the victims of superstorm Sandy by performing an intimate concert in one of the worst-hit areas.

The Grammy Award winners responded to a touching video message from a teenage New Jersey fan by agreeing to host a show in her hometown of Sea Bright.

The trio will perform their Christmas In Sea Bright gig on Wednesday (05Dec12), and the show will be taped as part of a Christmas Day special to be aired in America on Vh1.

Christine Nagy, whose video message inspired Train to perform the private show, and New Jersey's first responders to the storm will be among the special guests at the Sea Bright Firehouse concert, which will benefit local relief efforts.

In her video Nagy explained how the storm had affected her community.

Train frontman Pat Monahan tells Vh1, "The devastation of Sandy was so tremendous it was almost incomprehensible... We are hoping to add any bit of light to Sea Bright as they go through their recovery."

The island community of Sea Bright was devastated by October's (12) storm and its aftermath.
