He thinks artists ought to own their political opinions in public.
Say what you like about Trent Reznor, but he's certainly not afraid to tell it like it is. He opened up in an interview recently about the voice of superstars in the current climate, and his disdain for artists like Taylor Swift who refuse to speak out on important political matters.

The Nine Inch Nails frontman thinks that influential musicians sharing their opinions of social and political issues is of vital importance for young people and others who may not be able to voice their feelings but need somebody to stand-up on their behalf. He also thinks that stars like Taylor Swift, who avoid entering into political discussions, care more about their 'brand' than what's going on in the world.

The group's ninth album 'Bad Witch' is out in June, followed by a North American tour with JAMC in September.
The long-running group, fronted by Trent Reznor, revealed on Thursday that their ninth studio album will released on June 22nd and will be titled Bad Witch.
The six-track record, though it apparently constitutes an actual album, will also complete a self-styled trilogy of EPs from Nine Inch Nails that started with 2016’s Not The Actual Events and last year’s Add Violence. Their last full studio album was 2013's Hesitation Marks.
He wanted their cameo to sound a lot more 'ugly'.
It went without saying that Nine Inch Nails would make a live appearance at the Roadhouse on the new 'Twin Peaks' series, but it seems that creator David Lynch had a very specific idea on what kind of sound he wanted from them for the eighth episode.
Nine Inch Nails performing live
Band members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross recently opened up about their collaboration with David Lynch on 'Twin Peaks: The Return' - a project that they really didn't need much persuading to join. As it turns out, the song that they sung at the Roadhouse entitled 'She's Gone Away' was written especially for the show, and ended up also being included on the 'Not the Actual Events' EP.
So that's the Trent Reznor cameo we've been waiting for in 'Twin Peaks'.
The revival of David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks' is turning out to be quite the ride, with some epic moments in each nail-biting episode. One of our favourite moments so far? The appearance of Nine Inch Nails on the latest chapter performing at the Roadhouse.
Nine Inch Nails promote their latest EP on 'Twin Peaks'
We knew that Trent Reznor would be making an appearance in the new series at some point, but we had no idea when or where. Now we know that he was doing what he does best with his industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails performing one of their latest tracks 'She's Gone Away' from their 'Not the Actual Events' EP.

The NIN frontman remembers his former colleague.
The frontman of Nine Inch Nails - Trent Reznor - has paid tribute to his friend and former band member James Woolley, who was announced to have passed away earlier this week. The singer and Oscar winning film composer told how he has fond memories of working with the keyboardist, despite his brief tenure.
Trent Reznor pays tribute to James Woolley
Woolley worked with Reznor in Nine Inch Nails from 1991 to 1994, but despite the brevity of his involvement, he was there for some pretty significant moments in the band's career. He worked on their critically acclaimed second album 'The Downward Spiral' - which included the songs 'Hurt', 'March Of The Pigs' and 'Closer' - and even performed with the band for their legendary Woodstock 1994 set.
'Terrible news regarding James. I hadn't crossed paths with him for some time, but always thought of him fondly', Reznor told Rolling Stone. 'He was a fun character to be around, a solid musician and a genuinely good guy. Those of us from that era of the band have been sharing 'James' stories ... lots of laughs and love and sadness. Wishing his family the very best.'
Woolley's former wife and mother of his three children (Brendan, Mary and Anne) Karen Van Buren originally broke the news of his death to the public via Facebook, though didn't specify a cause of death; she merely revealed that he had been struggling with neck and spine problems for some time.

'I met James Woolley in late 1991 at the Sunset Social Club in Los Angeles. I was with my friend Tatiana enjoying the live band, then stood in the long line for the ladies' room. James was sitting on a chair nearby. We started talking and it was love at first sight', she wrote in her moving tribute.
What a revival it will be!
Is there anyone left in Hollywood NOT starring in the 'Twin Peaks' revival?! The 200-strong cast of the upcoming David Lynch series has been announced in full, revealing not only the original actors set to return (so thats pretty much everyone), but a whole bunch of new faces who will appear - including a handful of musical stars.
David Lynch is directing a stellar cast for 'Twin Peaks'
The upcoming new show is a continuation of the events of the 90s drama's original two series. It's only due for a limited 18-episode run on Showtime next year, which probably explains why so many people have agreed to get on board. Literally everyone you can think of from the show is making an appearance; Kyle MacLachlan as Agent Dale Cooper, Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer, Mädchen Amick as Shelly Johnson, Dana Ashbrook as Bobby Briggs, Richard Beymer as Benjamin Horne, Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne, Ray Wise as Leland Palmer and many more.
The Beatles star's Maton Mastersound guitar fetches the highest bid at Julien's Auctions in New York.
The Fab Four may have once sung "Can't buy me love", but Friday's auction at the Hard Rock Cafe proved you can buy George Harrison's prized Maton Mastersound guitar - if you have almost half a million dollars handy.

Rolling Stone reports that the instrument sold for $485,000, the top earner at Julien's Auctions in New York, which specialized in the sale of hundreds of rare items from the world of music.

People just don't take the Golden Globes seriously anymore! The biggest winner has been pronounced by fans as 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' star Jamie Dornan's magnificent beard - though facial hair is yet to land an official category.

Richard Butler covers 'She' on the 'Gone Girl' trailer and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross mark their third David Fincher soundtrack collaboration.
Trent Reznor teams up with Atticus Ross once again for the soundtrack to upcoming book-to-film thriller 'Gone Girl' directed by David Fincher; the new trailer features the song 'She', covered by the The Psychedelic Furs frontman Richard Butler.

The Nine Inch Nails singer broke the news over Twitter in January that he and producer Ross will mark their third collaboration on a Fincher film with Gillian Flynn's 'Gone Girl'. Starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, the movie tells the story of a struggling married couple, whose fifth anniversary is marred by the disappearance of Nick Dunne's wife Amy and the subsequent suspicions over his involvement in her possible murder.
The Nine Inch Nails frontman was disappointed after the Grammys cut off his performance.
Trent Reznor has voiced his extreme disappointment after his performance with Nine Inch Nails at last night's Grammy Awards was cut short by the ceremony's organisers. The NIN frontman had been playing live with his band, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, Queens Of The Stone Age and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham when the closing credits began to roll on the televised coverage, effectively cutting of the unique performance from millions of fans.
Trent Reznor Unleashed His Fury On The Grammys Organisers After His Performance Was Cut.
"Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt F**K YOU guys," a disgruntled Reznor tweeted after learning of the Grammys producers' decision to curtail the live coverage. Rock fans watching the show were similarly outraged and sent a barrage of tweets directed at the Grammys organisers. The supergroup had already instilled awe with a rendition of NIN's 'Copy of A' when the rock legends' performance was cut short mid-way through the recent QOTSA hit 'My God Is The Sun.'
