Paula Hamilton Fails To Endure CBB Task Due To 'Illness'

Celebrity Big Brother Paula Hamilton Rylan Clark Frankie Dettori Tricia Penrose

Paula Hamilton was moved from the unpleasant 'basement' to the luxury house on Channel 5's 'Celebrity Big Brother' after claiming that she was feeling unwell.

The new series of the reality show started last night (January 3rd 2013) with 'X Factor' 2012 contestant Rylan Clark and jockey Frankie Dettori being the first to arrive. They were tasked with deciding which celebrity from each pair that arrived would be cast into the darkness of the basement and which would enjoy the house luxuries. Former Volkswagen model Paula was selected for the basement instead of 'Heartbeat' star Tricia Penrose

However, it was only hours before Paula complained that she was feeling a 'little ill' and was advised to re-enter the main house by the BB doctor. Just how ill she is is uncertain; certainly, she doesn't seem sick enough to have to leave the house, but she has struggled with alcohol dependency for a large chunk of her life, even being turned away from the show in previous years for failing psychiatric tests according to TV psychologist Jo Hemmings who worked on the show when it aired on Channel 4. 'Paula Hamilton - because sending an alcoholic who failed her C4 psych tests three years ago is SUCH a good idea... #cbb', she wrote on Twitter.

2013 Celebrity Big Brother Cohort, Let's Meet The Lucky Contestants

So, the newest series of the show that managed to die a hard death only to be sadly revived like a second Frankenstein's monster, rehashed from the original - more nuts and bolts and scars than can be counted, and probably scarier - has returned. That's right, Celebrity Big Brother is back with a new cohort of desperate celebrities whose own careers have failed and are willing to do anything to regain the spotlight, or a spot of extra cash.

So, here's the tragic lineup for this year:

1. Frankie Detorri

It's here. It's finally here. Big Brother 2013 airs tonight (January 3, 2012) on Channel 5 from 9pm. A two-hour launch show presented by Brian Dowling will introduce this year's contestants, which have been kept safely under wraps for weeks.

In one of this year's televisual lowlights, the has-beens and nobodies will love each other for a bit, then hate each other for a bit. Someone will probably say, "She's totally different from her on-screen character," and Rylan from The X Factor will end up winning. If the tabloids are to be believed, Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan could be among those entering the famous house, as will Page 3 girl Lacey Banghard, from Neighbours actor Ryan Moloney, Eastenders star Gillian Taylforth and Heartbeat's Tricia Penrose. No? Us neither.
