Justin Bieber Spitting In His Neighbor's Face Wasn't Criminal, D.A Rules

Justin Bieber Tyler The Creator

The key finding seems to be that Justin Bieber is a bit of an idiot, though isn't a criminal. We're talking about the whole spitting thing, by the way.

Prosecutors declined to press charges against the diminutive pop star this week regarding an incident in which a neighbour of the singer approached him about allegedly speeding around their gated community in Calabasas. He promptly received a big old hunk of Bieber spit in the face - something the L.A. County District Attorney's Office found "immature" but not criminal. Rapper Tyler, The Creator had actually taken responsibility for the reckless driving, though Justin got aggressive with the neighbor anyway.

Deputy District Attorney Alan Yochelson wrote in his charges evaluation worksheet - as reported by TMZ.com - that Bieber's response to being confronted "seems disproportionate and immature," but that the evidence did not show "beyond a reasonable doubt" that his actions were criminal. A representative for young Justin - probably delighted by the news - had no comment.

And that's it. Another year passes and Worthy Farm closes its gates on the Glastonbury Festival revellers for another 12 months. Though there's always the distant murmur of someone professing it "the best Glastonbury ever," there was a palpable feeling that this year's festival was among the finest in history. Firstly, there was heightened anticipation given the fallow year in 2012 and secondly, the sun came out. Oh, and The Rolling Stones made their debut, rollicking through a two-and-a-half-hour set on Saturday (June 29, 2013) and scoring five-star reviews across the board.

The surprise return of David Bowie in 2013 had left many commentators speculating on the possibility of the Thin White Duke headlining the legendary festival, though there was no lingering thoughts of "What if?" once Glastonbury got underway on Friday with a snappy set from Sheffield heroes Arctic Monkeys. Bowie became all but a moot point after Saturday, when Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and company played a career spanning set that included 'Jumping Jack Flash,' 'Tumbling Dice,' 'Start Me Up,' 'You Can't Always Get What You Want,' 'Gimmie Shelter,' 'Doom and Gloom' and 'Midnight Rambler.' "The night belongs to the Stones. By turning on the charm as well as the formidable back catalogue, they prove themselves well worth the wait," said the Guardian's Dorian Lynskey.

Justin Bieber Off The Hook, But Still Parties With Tyler, The Creator

Justin Bieber Tyler The Creator Kanye West Keyshawn Johnson

After last month's debacle involving Tyler, The Creator recklessly driving Justin Bieber's car, you'd think lil' Beibs would want to put as much space between him and the Odd Futures MC - at least until the story blows over. Alas no, the pair both attended the pre-release listening party for Kanye West's new album Yeezus where their friendship seemed firmer than ever.

Kanye West's album may have been released to the general public today (18th June) but a select bunch of celebs were given an exclusive first listen to the rapper's fresh tracks at a listening party in Hollywood last Friday. West may not have been present, due to the birth of his daughter, but the 7-10 people in attendance partied to the 10-track record, which seemed to go down pretty well.

Bieber tweeted: "Fact. @kanyewest new album is the truth" and was pictured posing with Tyler.

Justin Bieber Looks To Be Off The Hook After Tyler, The Creator Admits To Dangerous Driving, But It Isn't Over Yet For Biebs

Justin Bieber Tyler The Creator

Last week Justin Bieber almost ended up on the receiving end of a neighbourhood lynch-mob headed by none other than Keyshawn Johnson, after the singer supposedly drove his car at ridiculously dangerous speeds through his exclusive, gated Calabasas community in Los Angeles. He blamed rapper Tyler, The Creator for the driving and Tyler accepted the blame, but this doesn't exactly spell the end of things for Justin quite yet.

This weekend Tyler Tweeted that it was him driving the Ferrari at break-neck speeds through the residential area, with Justin thanking him and saying that he is used to having his name slandered by other people. But wait a minute, he may be nineteen by hasn't Biebs been taught about being responsible for your own guests, and belongings (including cars) for that matter? Ok it wasn't him driving, but he was in he car at the time and could have and should have made the Odd Future rapper slow down. Driving or not Justin isn't off the hook yet. And then we come to the conundrum of whether Tyler and Biebs are telling the truth at all, because Keyshawn and a selection of other peeved neighbours are convinced they saw a white kid driving the sports car through Calabasas.

The whole neighbourhood is getting a little bit too annoyed with Justin now, and his stunt with the Ferrari may be the last straw for a community who are believed to be ready to take action to see that Justin faces retribution for his reckless living in the family neighbourhood.

Tyler, The Creator Admits He Was Driving Justin Bieber's Ferrari

Justin Bieber Tyler The Creator

The now infamous joyride through Calabasas has an explanation, and it turns out Justin Bieber wasn't lying when he said he wasn't driving his Ferrari irresponsibly after all, as rapper Tyler, The Creator has admitted to being the man behind the wheel all along. The Odd Future figurehead Tweeted his revelation this weekend, taking full blame for the dangerous driving antics that almost landed Biebs with a fat lip from a former NFL great.

"That Was Me Behind The Wheel Of Justins Vehicle," wrote Tyler on Saturday (June 1), before referring to Keyshawn Johnson (presumably) and the others who placed the blame on Bieber by writing, "People Are Actually Evil Swearing Up And Down That It Was Who It Wasnt."

Justin thanked Tyler on Sunday (June 2) for clearing his name, although admitted that he is used to having his name slandered. He wrote, "all good buddy. i deal with this everyday. thanks though. the baby aint mine either."

Call In CSI - Tyler The Creator Implicated In Justin Bieber's Reckless Driving Case

Justin Bieber Tyler The Creator

Justin Bieber has had a number of unfortunate incidents in the past year, but the latest one – the allegations of reckless driving, raised against Justin by his neighbor Keyshawn Johnson – is getting more complicated by the day.

Earlier in the week, Johnson reportedly confronted Bieber about his fast and furious driving in the peaceful community of Calabasas, according to E!Online. The “Boyfriend” singer is currently facing reckless driving charges because of the incident. According to Keyshawn, Justin was indeed the one driving, when the NFL star confronted him about the whole thing, says TMZ. But Justin’s security people claim that the popstar was not behind the wheel at the time when the reckless driving reportedly occurred.

We hope you’re paying attention, because this story can make your head spin. Instead, the pop star and his posse claim that the car was being driven by Justin’s pal, Tyler, The Creator and that the Biebs only took the driver’s seat to park the car in his garage. If this is true, it would mean that Justin is innocent, but if not, it would mean that it was all a complicated plot by Bieber and his employees to frame Tyler. Currently there doesn’t appear to be evidence to prove either story. All bets are welcome on whether or not JB will get out of this.

Justin Bieber's Security Team Point The Finger At Tyler, The Creator Following Reckless Driving Charge Against Singer

Justin Bieber Tyler The Creator Odd Future

Justin Bieber landed himself in hot water for a change on Memorial Day after he was accused of recklessly driving his Ferrari around his exclusive Los Angeles residential area. Now it looks as though the singer may have found a way around his latest charge, by blaming rapper and Odd Future affiliate Tyler, The Creator for the whole thing.

According to TMZ, the security team at Justin's LA mansion have filmed proof that shows Tyler driving the car over the holiday and not Justin, with TMZ gaining their intel from a police insider with access to the report filed by said security team. In spite of this revelation, it doesn't exactly clear Bieber's name for good, as it is still their word against four witnesses from Justin's gated community.

Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, who lives opposite Bieber's LA mansion, told TMZ on Friday (May 31) that he saw Bieber himself driving his Ferrari into the gated neighbourhood, something that he and 3 other witnesses agree on. He did go on to say, however, that when he confronted Justin about his manic driving he explained that it wasn't him doing the driving during the Grand Theft Auto-recreation, he just got in the drivers seat to reverse the car into the drive. We assume he did this after he ran away and cowered from the advancing ex-American footballer.

Lil Wayne The Latest Rapper To Be Dropped By Mountain Dew Following Derogatory 'Karate Chop' Lyrics

Lil Wayne Tyler The Creator

Lil Wayne will no longer serve as a spokesperson for Mountain Dew following the controversy surrounding a line in his song 'Karate Chop,' which was released in February. In the song he eloquently discusses the merits of rough sex, comparing it to the murder of Emmett Till.

"Pop a lot of pain pills, 'bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels ... beat that p***y up like Emmett Till." - No that isn't the Facebook status of a fourteen-year-old, sexually frustrated boy, but the line that landed Weezy, 30, in trouble and cost him his partnership with Mountain Dew - TMZ first reported. The drinks brand, owned by PepsiCo, have since severed all ties with the 'rapper', although it is unknown whether the existing commercials featuring Wayne will continue to air (they probably wont).

Lil Wayne was rightly dropped by the drinks company.

Tyler The Creator's Camp Issue Mountain Dew Advert Apology

Odd Future Tyler The Creator

In what’s been a lengthy war of words on all sides, Odd Future’s co-manager Ed Clancy has come to the defense of Tyler The Creator and his allegedly racist Mountain Dew advert.

The ad, which features a goat obsessed with Mountain Dew has drawn criticism from – most vocally – Dr Boyce Watkins who called it the most racial commercial ever, given it featured the goat lined up with a heavily stereotyped black suspect line and an all-white police force and victim on the side of the glass window. The ad has since been removed and Clancy apologized, though he did say "It was never Tyler's intention to offend however. Offense is personal and valid to anyone who is offended. Out of respect to those that were offended the ad was taken down."

In a statement given to MTV, he continued "For those who know and respect Tyler he is known for pushing boundaries and challenging stereotypes through humor. This is someone who grew up on [comedian] David Chappelle. This situation is layered with context and is a discussion that Tyler would love to address in the right forum as he does have a point of view."

Pepsi Pulls Tyler, The Creator's Ad After Backlash Over Racist Stereotypes

Tyler The Creator

Stupid ads have existed since the dawn of advertising, but so far 2013 is turning out to be the year of the poorly thought out commercial, with Tyler, The Creator’s Mountain Dew spot being just the latest example. Days after Hyundai pulled an ad parodying suicide, and few weeks after McDonald's yanked a regional subway poster that parodied depressed women, you thought advertisers would take a clue, right? Wrong. PepsiCo.’s ad for Mountain Dew is a double whammy of stupid – managing to offend black nationwide. The ad features a battered woman, being faced with a lineup of black suspects and a talking goat, who keeps threatening the her and making remarks like "Keep ya mouth shut." Yes, that is as cringe-worthy as it sounds.

The ad was pulled soon after the soft drink giant realised the backlash they were facing over it and Pepsi sent in a statement to USA Today, apologizing for the blunder: "We apologize for this video and take full responsibility. We have removed it from all Mountain Dew channels, and Tyler is removing it from his channels, as well." Some critics don’t think that’s good enough, however. Ken Smikle, president of Target Market News, a research company that monitors developments in African-American marketing and media, called for a company-wide investigation and overhaul of Pepsi’s media strategy: "Given their poor record of marketing to African Americans, and the hundreds of millions blacks spend with the company, there needs to be an investigation and a plan that is made public on how this will be avoided in the future."

It seems somewhat unlikely that the corporation will heed his advice.

"Racist" Tyler The Creator Starring Mountain Dew Ad Pulled

Odd Future Tyler The Creator

A Mountain Dew advert featuring Tyler The Creator has been pulled from TV after being accused of using racist imagery to target the black demographic.

The advert centers around Felicia The Goat, but that’s not the issue that people have. An essay written by Dr Boyce Watkins on Your Black World took aim at just about everything, starting with the scene where Felicia is stood in a suspect line with exclusively black suspects. “In the world of Mountain Dew, every single suspect is black,” Watkins wrote. “Not just regular black people, but the kinds of ratchety negroes you might find in the middle of any hip-hop minstrel show: Gold teeth, ‘mean mugging,’ sun glasses wearing, white-t sportin, hard core n*ggaz ready to “get into some ol gangsta sh*t.” Watkins goes on to point out that on the police side of the glass window separating the suspects, all the people are white – “the good guys”.

“Mountain Dew has set a new low for corporate racism. Their decision to lean on well-known racial stereotypes is beyond disgusting” Watkins fumed in a lengthy prose. He’s far from the only one who has been stunned by the advert, and MTV have reported that the drinks company have since confirmed they are pulling the clip. "We apologize for this video and take full responsibility. We have removed it from all Mountain Dew channels and Tyler is removing it from his channels as well," a statement said.

Lindsay Lohan outside The Late Show

Don't Mess With The Lohan: Though David Letterman probed and probed, Lindsay Lohan gave an assured performance on the Late Show this week, following her sentencing to three months in locked down rehabilitation. A healthy looking Lindsay spoke about what she's looking to get out of the experience and even had room for a few quips.

Accidental Racist: LL Cool J and Brad Paisley have joined forces on a country-hip-hop hybrid. Now, whether that appeals or sounds like you're worst nightmare, you've probably heard that it's caused quite a stir for its treatment of race relations in the lyrics. LL is standing by the "bold statement."

Video - Tyler The Creator Has Fun With Fans After 'David Letterman'

Leotards And Chairshots; Tyler, The Creator Goes Wrestling In 'Domo 23' Video

Odd Future Tyler The Creator

If you love Tyler The Creator and you love professional wrestling then, boy, are you in for a treat? We’re pretty sure the last time we covered the scripted grappling in any detail it was to document Hulk Hogan’s sex tape, so it’s a delight to report there’s none of that sort of business going on in this, Tyler’s new video for single ‘Domo 23’.

The concept of the video sees Tyler starring as a wrestler named Fookie Bookie. You’d think he’d have a pretty solid chance of it in the ring, given that his Odd Future bro Earl Sweatshirt is in there with him as the referee. However, given that Tyler is also fighting against another Odd Future member, in Domo Genesis, it’s clear that the gang are all out for themselves in this pretty amusing video. And it’s Tyler who initially comes off worst, taking a mighty chair shot from Domo and seemingly going down for the count. Next up he’s against a giant of a man, and again looks like he's taking a pounding, only to overcome not only him but Domo as well, with that classic wrestling move of, um, spitting in their faces.

The song will be part of Tyler’s new album Wolf, out on April 2, 2013. He revealed that the album had three different covers, according to Pitchfork. A tour to support the album begins in North America next month; Tyler will kicks things off in Ohio on March 12. Check out the video below.

Tyler, The Creator On Miley Cyrus' New Album, Surprised?

Miley Cyrus Tyler The Creator

You expect a lot of things from Tyler, The Creator, usually the unexpected. So when it came out that he had guested on Miley Cyrus' new album, we were pretty surprised. Or were we unsurprised? Not sure.

Perhaps more surprising though, is that it seems to have worked. Cyrus herself explained to MTV how the unlikely collaboration came about. "I wrote this song with Mary J. Blige, and Tyler, the Creator heard it and said, 'I am obsessed with this song, and I will guest on it if you promise me that you will keep it on the album,'" she explained. "And he killed it! I really didn't want to make a hip-hop record, and I'm not trying at all to be a Rihanna or a Nicki [Minaj]....That's not my vibe," she said. "When I was growing up, my older brother would sneak me Nelly CDs, my dad had me listening to Dolly [Parton] and Johnny [Cash], and my mom is a complete metal head. So this record is a weird mixture of all that."

Since his explosion onto the scene, with his art-house videos, frank lyrics and bolshie manner, Tyler has made many friends and enemies. He's also helped launch the careers of artists like Earl Sweatshirt, and Frank Ocean, who wowed critics with his debut album, Channel Orange.

Odd Future Gang Go Nuts On Twitter For Frank Oceans Grammy Nominations

Odd Future Frank Ocean Tyler The Creator

When a bunch of talented young musicians, singers, rappers and lyricists and called themselves Odd Future, it's doubtful any of them thought of the their members would be nominated for Album of The Year at The 55th Annual Grammy Awards.

But that's exactly what the mercurial Frank Ocean has done with his hit record, Channel Orange. The R&B album, with it's iconic bright orange square cover, was loved by the critics, and now it looks like the awards judges will be giving it the thumbs up, too. OF took to twitter to air their proud messages following Oceans's good news.  "Wow... .., " the usually low key Ocean posted on his Tumblr in reaction before adding : "WTF." And an emoticon. "YELLOW SUIT READY? @frank_ocean MY N---A," Tyler, The Creator tweeted. "SICKKKKKK," added Earl Sweatshirt "@frank_ocean ALBUM OF THE YEAR NOMINATION IS WELL DESERVED PIMPIN," wrote Taco.

Managers of the group - Chris and Kelly Clancy - became the most excited on the social networking site. "my heart is beating out of my chest... literally...," Kelly wrote before sending out a pic on Instagram."Album of the f---ing year. Wow. Wow. Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahh ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha," an elated Chris tweeted before posting, "Got the eyes going.
