Tyra Banks has shared a picture of her newborn baby boy for the first time, just a couple of weeks after he was born via gestational surrogate.

The 42 year old media heavyweight, and ex-presenter of ‘America’s First Top Model’, became a mom for the first time on January 27th. She posted a picture of herself with her son, named York, on Instagram on Valentine’s Day.

As she stares into the distance right of camera, the tiny baby can be seen resting on her chest. “This is the Happiest Valentine’s Day of my life,” Tyra wrote as a caption. “York, Daddy @erikasla and I send you so much love.”

Banks and her partner, the Norwegian photographer Erik Asla, had struggled with infertility for a number of years before turning to a surrogate to help them start a family. “He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin,” she wrote about her son soon after he was born.

“As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day,” she said in a statement to the press a fortnight ago. “My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms.”

“As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone, York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”

Now that ‘America’s Next Top Model’ has come to an end after an astonishing 22 seasons, Banks has been a regular on the talk show ‘FABLife’ and runs her own cosmetics company.
