The dates include four night runs at New York’s Madison Square Garden, the CA Forum in Los Angles and London’s O2 arena, while the rest of the cities will see a pair of concerts.

In a statement released by the group, frontman Bono said, “We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two” said Bono, “and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience. More to be revealed!”

The ‘more to be revealed’ could possibly include dates in the band’s hometown of Dublin which is noticeably absent from the list. However The Guardian writes that a spokesperson for the band has confined that they have planned some additional shows in Dublin, coming at the end of next year as part of the ‘U2-initiated Music Generation project’.

The tour will be in support of the band’s latest album, Songs Of Innocence, which caused controversy in September when it was given away free by iTunes to over half a billion customers. The band subsequently had to defend the tactic after some users complained and Apple released a tool allowing users to remove the record from their iTunes accounts.
