'Orange is the New Black' star Uzo Aduba says her fashion icon is Kerry Washington.

The 34-year-old actress takes her style inspiration from the 38-year-old star, who always finds herself on the best dress list at red carpet events, because she's ''fresh and classic.''

Speaking to PEOPLE.com, Uzo said: ''I kind of live for Kerry Washington and what she's giving. Always very chic, always current. She's fresh and always classic.''

However, the brunette beauty will always slip into something that makes her feel important and fits with her personality.

She added: ''I wear anything that makes me feel like me. Anything that feels alive, vibrant, fresh, regal.''

Uzo - known for playing Suzanne ''Crazy Eyes'' Warren in the Netflix hit show - has dished out her top tips to walk the red carpet with elegance and confidence.

She said: ''I would say, have fun. Just have fun. It's fun, this is a good time. It's to be enjoyed. Don't sweat the small stuff, don't let anything get to your head, just have your moment.''
