Vanessa Paradis has finally moved to deny speculation that she is to split from her long-time partner, the Hollywood actor Johnny Depp. The French actress and singer has been in a relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean star for 14 years, but recent rumors had suggested the pair had grown apart.
Earlier this week, Paradis, 39, fuelled the speculation by turning up without Depp to her movie premiere in Paris. However, when appearing on French TV chat show Le Grand Journal, the French star was questioned by presenter Marc Denisot about the split and said, "People say we are buying houses in the middle of nowhere, or that we have 52 houses in France. And that is along with saying we split up every winter and get married every summer, and that I'm on my twelfth pregnancy". The couple are said to split their time between the South of France and Los Angeles, but recent reports suggested Depp had purchased himself a loft-apartment near Hollywood. When Denisot asked, "Why don't you respond to the rumour and put an end to it? Is the rumour false?", Vanessa was unequivocal, saying, "Yes it's false - of course it's false". The singer and actress had appeared to speak cryptically about her relationship at the premiere of her movie 'Cafe de Flore' this week, saying, "The idea of a soulmate is beautiful and very romantic...in a movie or a song, but in reality, I find it scary".
Meanwhile, Depp is preparing to travel to New Mexico to begin shooting a remake of The Lone Ranger, also starring Armie Hammer. The 45-year-old plays the Ranger's trusty companion Tonto.
