AC/DC are trapped inside the witch's crystal ball and left to the mercy of the Tarot cards in the video for their latest single, 'Witch's Spell'. Lead guitarist Angus Young is the first to appear through the mists of hell as the witch weaves her taloned hands around the glass globe. Lead singer Brian Johnson is next, followed by drummer Phil Rudd and then bassist Cliff Williams.
The veteran rockers haven't lost any of their bite or their venom on the latest track to be lifted from the band's 'POWER UP' album. 'Witch's Spell' represents the fourth track to be lifted from the 12 track album. 'Shot In The Dark' was the lead single from the band's first album in six years and was released in early October of last year. This was followed up shortly afterwards with 'Realize' in November and then finally the incendiary 'Demon Fire' in December.
'Witch's Spell' is AC/DC's first new release of 2021, and the band's fourth single to be lifted from their 17th studio album. The track is also being released as a limited edition vinyl picture disc, with 'Through The Mists Of Time' as a b-side, for Record Store Day 2021 on 12th June.
The restored line-up of Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, Phil Rudd and Stevie Young are sounding revitalised on their new record and their latest single release has all the hallmarks of a classic AC/DC tune. Angus Young's signature power-house guitar performance, coupled with Johnson's rasping vocals, Rudd's driving beat and William's rumbling bass still make for a potent mix of heavy rock.
Whatever spell that they're under it's clearly agreeing with them as AC/DC show now signs of letting up or calming down.
