AJ Tracey is clearly a big fan of coordination. Earlier this year, on the same day that he celebrated his 27th birthday (March 4th), AJ Tracey released the single and video for the lead track from his latest album. 'Anxious', his second track of the year, followed his collaboration with Digga D on the single, 'Bringing It Back'.
This time around, one day ahead of his highly anticipated album release, AJ has dropped one more single, 'Little More Love'. On the same day as releasing his latest single, and just ahead of his second album, Tracey also premiered the video to accompany his latest single.
The album from which it is lifted, 'Flu Game', is a 16 song strong record that features numerous artists including, Mabel, MoStack, Kehlani, Millie Go Lightly, SahBabii, T-Pain and NAV, however, his latest single, just as 'Anxious' was, is a solo effort.
The Ladbrook Grove rapper, who's last album was the eponymous debut from 2019, has been drip feeding info on his new record for months, saying it was "almost done" six weeks ago. Now that he's finally able to share it with the world AJ tweeted, "gassed everyone can take in my 2 years of hard work, like it or hate it im just happy if you give it a chance."
AJ's latest material "marks a notable switch of pace, and a bold statement of intent, speaking on the varying emotions felt by AJ in his current position." His latest track is a softer rap, with an R&B undercurrent featuring a 'No Scrubs' like score from which Tracey builds. "My soul's getting tired always runnin' from the law, My brothers are getting by, we don't struggle anymore, If you love me how you love me, then love me a little more" Tracey sings over a subtle beat enhanced by some great percussive touches and added horns.
After cruising around London's West End in his drop-top Roller during his 'Anxious' video, AJ continues his tour of the capital taking in Piccadilly Circus and then a club for his latest film. Tracey signs off the video with the message, "IN LOVING MEMORY OF DMX, THANK YOU FOR EVERYGTHING", following the tragic death of the New York rapper.
