On the same day that she releases her new 13 track album, 'Better Mistakes', Bebe Rexha has premiered a new video for it's opening track, 'Break My Heart'. Bebe's latest track features 'Misery Business' artist Travis Barker and is one of six tracks on the new album that are collaborations. Other artists appearing alongside Bebe on her second album include, Ty Dolla $ign and Trevor Daniel on 'My Dear Love', Lil Uzi Vert on 'Die For A Man', 'Pink Sweat$ and Lunay on 'On The Go', and Doja Cat on 'Baby, I'm Jealous'.
The lead track from the album, 'Baby I'm Jealous', featuring Grammy nominee Doja Cat, was released last October and has subsequently been followed by the up-tempo dance track, 'Sacrifice', the tender and balladic 'Sabotage' and more recently, the Lil Uzi Vert hook-up, 'Die For A Man', released at the end of April.
Bebe Rexha's new song is playful top draw pop tune with a blackly comic underbelly. "I don’t need your help, getting off of this carousel, I don’t need anybody else, Cause I can break my heart myself" Rexha sings. The percussively driven song touches on drug dependency and mental health issues with Bebe singing, "Hello, my name is Stevie, Actually I’m lyin it’s really Bebe, It’s the meds, they make me really sleepy, Klonopin my friend, yeah she numbs the feelin."
In the Christian Breslauer (Doja Cat/Tory Lanez) directed video Bebe Rexha appears as she opens a coffin in a technicolor top, zebra pants and elbow length purple gloves. The grimy washroom set couldn't be less glamorous if it tried but Rexha shines throughout as she gives a terrific performance of one of the best tracks on the new album.
