Bree Runway follow's up last month's 'Pressure' and switches tack to her "ballad era" with the silky smooth and oh so soulful - 'Somebody Like You'. The new tune, a million miles away from hits like 'HOT HOT' and 'ATM (feat. Missy Elliott)', shows an altogether different side to Bree as she delivers up one of her most polished, R'n'B flavoured tunes to date.
Bree herself called out the new sound when she wrote on her Instagram page - "uh ohhhh she’s in her ballad era...this really is an ode to a future love, I wrote this for the loverssssss! u know a love that feels so good that if you have another chance at life you’d do it twice ? yeah...thats ‘somebody like you’".
Bree, who has just sold out her first two headline dates in LA and New York, wrote - "this song means too much to meeee...so happy it’s out now! i just hope somebody is movedddd when they press play, go and tell everyone about ‘SOMEBODY LIKE YOU’ before she added that she was - "sooooo FREAKIN happy you’re all touched by ‘somebody like you’...keep streaming herrrrr and a big thank you to every one that bought tickets for the la and NY shows, I heard NY sold out in 6 FREAKIN minutes!!! LA also sold out in a blink, I can’t wait to see you allllllll wthhhh".
Runway's video for her latest track is directed by Claire Arnold who has previously worked with Ashnikko on 'Drunk With My Friends' and 'Panic Attacks In Paradise', as well as numerous other projects for the likes of Nike, Miu Miu, Hugo Boss and Jimmy Choo.
'Somebody Like You' is the second of Bree Runway's trilogy series, the first being the lead single - 'Pressure'. The third instalment, as yet unnamed, is "coming soon". Watch this space!
