easy life have shared an aquatically themed video for their single 'ocean view' just ahead of the release of their hotly anticipated debut album 'life's a beach'. Although the latest video from Leicester's up-and-coming band has a peculiar nautical bent the story line is really the age old tale of unrequited love.
The laid back love song, with a gentle R&B score, starts with a vocoder enhanced opening, visualised in the video by a large Fimble style orange 'fish' as she sings, "i thought you said you loved the ocean, when we were standing at the shore, you didn’t even dip your toes in, i can’t believe i just took you home."
It's not quite the blockbuster fishy friend re-make of the Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah classic 'Splash' but the video does have a certain charm as lead singer, and founding band member, Murray Matravers embraces his marine love. The video starts as both protagonists are being arrested and struggling on the ground as the cuffs are applied with Matravers blaming his slippery partner as he says, "This is just classic you isn't it, another day turned into an absolute disaster, don't you dare bring my Mum into this, like you aren't exactly like your Dad going out on 24 hour benders."
easy life are hoping to hit the top of the charts with their new album and have gone all out in their quest to do so. As well as bringing the album release date forward by one week (It was originally scheduled for release on June 4th) the band have also dropped more singles, 'lifeboat' and 'music to walk home to', a day ahead of it's release.
In total easy life have now shared eight tracks as singles from an album that consists of just twelve. The band took to Twitter as the new full length debut record was premiered saying, "ENJOY it , LOVE it, EMBRACE it, FEEL it ! LIFES A BEACH BABYYYYYYY."
