After giving her ex an unequivocal but entertainingly alphabetical request to get lost on her first single of 2021, GAYLE is now 'luv starved' on her second of 2022. The 'abcdefu' singer enjoyed phenomenal worldwide success with only her fifth single having scored a number one in the U.K, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland as well as a number three in her native America.
The 17 year old Texan only released her first track - 'dumbass' back in January of 2020 when she was just 15. Since her debut single release the Dallas born artist has shared four further songs - 'z', 'happy for you' and 'orange peel' before she secured a major record deal and signed with Atlantic Records.
'abcdefu' was GAYLE's first release for Atlantic and her first taste of chart success. With the backing of a major label GAYLE has realised her potential and been given the platform her songs deserve. 'luv starved', her hotly anticipated follow-up to 'ur just horny' may not have quite the same venomous soundbite as 'abcdefu' but it does have another ridiculously catchy sing-a-long chorus that's difficult to dislodge once it's heard.
'luv starved' appears alongside three more new tracks on GAYLE's first EP - 'a study of the human experience volume one'. Together with her last three singles GAYLE has also shared - 'kiddie pool', 'sleeping with my friends' and 'e-z (feat. UPSAHL & Blu DeTiger)'.
Talking about her new six track EP the young singer-songwriter said - "When I was younger, I had an image in my head of who I wanted to be as i got older. How I was going to act, dress, what type of friends I would have, and the things I wouldn’t do until I was married or twenty-one. Then I grew up and stuck to none of it. For a while, I didn’t know why the things that were so important to me when I was younger no longer were important. Then I realized what I wanted in life had just changed, and that’s ok. ‘a study of the human experience volume one’ is about my life experiences and the experiences of those I collaborated with on this project. For me, growing up is all about making mistakes and learning from them. It just sucks sometimes that I have to make so many to learn."
