After showcasing her undoubted talent with one of the standout performances from this year's BRIT Awards, Griff returns with another arresting visual to accompany her latest single, 'One Foot In Front Of The Other'. The runner-up in the BBC's 'Sound Of 2021', and the deserving winner of the BRIT Award for 'Rising Star', is certainly making 2021 her breakthrough year as she continues to raise her profile with each new release.
'One Foot In Front Of The Other' is, somewhat surprisingly, only Griff's second single of the year and follows on from her very impressive January release, 'Black Hole'; a track that has subsequently been re-worked and re-released a number of times. As well as Griff's own acoustic version of the song that she performed at this year's BRIT's, there have also been remixes by Goodboys, Black Saint and 'BETTERMAN' artist, Dan D'Lion.
Griff's latest track is another slice of soulful pop carefully polished with a slick production that lets Griff's distinctive vocal take centre stage.
As Griff dropped her latest release she tweeted, "One foot in Front of the Other is out now!! I wrote and produced it by myself over lockdown, theres something quite daunting about releasing a song into the world that was made in such solitude. Anyways shpeel over its out and i hope you guys like it."
In the highly stylised, theatrical video, Griff and Director Stephen Isaac-Wilson (C4/Tate/Barbican), give the visual for the song a performance art platform that really works for both the song and the video. Griff is captivating on screen, embracing the nuanced and creative direction given by the artistic London based film maker.
'One Foot In Front Of The Other' was released via Warner Music UK on May 27th.
