To coincide with the release of her new album, 'Be Right Back' , Jorja Smith has shared a video for her latest single, 'Bussdown' featuring Shaybo. Jorja's new release dropped just a day ahead of her eight track album and comes barely a month after her last single, 'Gone'. 'Bussdown' is the third track to be released as a single from Smith's second album, the first being 'Addicted' which came out in early March. In Between 'Gone' and 'Addicted', Jorja has also released a track with, 'What You Heard' artist Sonder, called 'Nobody But You'.
For her latest single release Jorja Smith has teamed up with 'Broke Boys' and 'Anger' singer Shaybo on a smooth and laid back, R&B flavoured track with a mellow and soulful groove. The dub enhanced beat is broken up by the introduction of Shaybo's intermittent rap. The combination of Smith's silky vocals together with the relaxed beats and Shaybo's contrasting street style works a treat on Jorja's new single.
In the Fenn O’Meally written and directed video Jorja is the subject of a hidden camera documentary targeting "scammer mechanics" as she is seen hood-winking a guy into paying way over the odds for a few light repairs to his motor. 'J & Shay's Nice Motors' is definitely not the place to go if you're on a tight budget that's for sure. £10,000 for a new clutch, new springs and a flickering front light seems a bit steep to me.
Whilst Jorja Smith plays her part as a garage mechanic extremely well, she absolutely excels with yet another standout vocal performance. A new series of 'Pimp My Ride' could be an option if all else fails though.
