To coincide with the release of his long awaited debut album, 'MONTERO', Lil Nas X has dropped a video for one of it's 15 tracks - 'THATS WHAT I WANT'. Following on from his three singles, 'MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)', 'SUN GOES DOWN' and more recently 'INDUSTRY BABY', Lil Nas X's album comes nearly two and a half years after his huge debut single 'Old Town Road'.
Lil Nas X has enlisted the help of some major talent on his first full length release. As well as Jack Harlow, who featured on his last hit single 'INDUSTRY BABY', Lil Nas X is also joined by 'Kiss Me More' singer Doja Cat on 'SCOOP', 'WAP' artist Megan Thee Stallion on 'DOLLA SIGN SLIME', the former Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, for 'AM I DREAMING' and Rock'n'Roll royalty, Elton John, who joins Nas on 'ONE OF ME'. After very positive reviews and responses to the album, Lil Nas X tweeted - "i’m genuinely thankful for all of the positive reviews on montero. i put my entire bussy into that album."
In the STILLZ (Bad Bunny) directed video Lil Nas X falls to earth and lands on the football pitch of the Montero University. Player number 55, Lil Nas, is driven off with a banged up knee as his shirtless, pink wigged supporters look on from the bleachers. As he's contemplating his fate back in the changing room, Lil Nas X is joined by another team mate for some steamy post-match action. As the beat drops the setting changes and we find Lil Nas and his partner recreating scenes from 'Brokeback Mountain' with Nas singing - "I want (I), someone to love me, I need (I), someone who needs me, 'Cause it don't feel right when it's late at night, And it's just me in my dreams, So I want (I), someone to love."
'MONTERO', the new album from Lil Nas X, was released on September 17th via Columbia Records.
