You wait for a year for a great new Little Simz track and then two come along within the space of a few weeks. After sharing possibly her best single to date with the release of her last track, 'Introvert', Little Simz is back with a more soulful single, 'Woman'. Ahead of the release of her new album, 'Sometimes I Might Be Introvert', due out on September 3rd, Little Simz has hooked-up with 'Why Don't You' singer Cleo Sol to deliver another empowering song.
'Woman' has more of an R&B vibe than Little Simz last track, 'Introvert', with a mellower soundtrack upon which Simz raps effortlessly as she celebrates women from across the world. "Woman to woman I just wanna see you glow, Tellem what up, I love, How you go from zero to 1 hundred, And leave the dust behind you’ve got this, All action no talk, I see your glow you’re the finest gold, When you walk in the room they feel your soul, Your style it shines so ahead of time, And you know that you’re fire you’re so damn fine girl" Simz sings as the sumptuous strings help soundtrack the song.
In the self-directed video for the song Little Simz is lording it up in a grand stately home as she enjoys the opulence of her surroundings. In her diamond choker and matching earrings Little Simz signs her checks and organisers her team with some nicely choreographed boardroom moves.
Little Simz was aided on the shoot by renowned cinematographer, Rina Yang (Bohemian Rhapsody/Top Boy/The End Of The F**king World) and the pair have clearly worked very well together to deliver up a lavish and enjoyable visual treat. From the lobsters and the cocktails through to the silk gowns and chic setting the whole film is a little slice of glamour. It's Baz Luhrmann meets Downton Abbey and we love it!
