Maisie Peters travels alone on a bus through the East Sussex countryside as she takes the coastal route out of Brighton in the lyric video for her new song, 'You Signed Up For This'. Her latest autobiographical track follows the terrific 'John Hughes Movie' released in February, her collaboration with James Bay on 'Funeral' and her July release, 'Psycho'.
The 21 year old singer-songwriter and former YouTuber dropped 'You Signed Up For This' together with another new track titled, 'Brooklyn'. Both are lifted from Maisie Peters debut studio album which is due for release on August 27th via Ed Sheeran's Gingerbread Man Records.
'You Signed Up For This' comes almost exactly four years after Peters released her breakthrough debut single, 'Place We Were Made'. In the interim Maisie has developed her songwriting technique and her vocals have matured to give her a broader spectrum but she lost none of her innocent, heartfelt and honest appeal.
On the day that the lyric video was premiered Maisie Peters tweeted, "ysuft visualiser!!!! dom and i stumbled upon an empty bus along brighton seafront and secretly stuck a camera to the window and filmed this and i love it i hope u do too <3".
'You Signed Up For This' is another great example of how Maisie has blossomed as a songwriter and once again sees her wear her heart on her sleeve as she sings, "Shout if you want my heart, It is an open invitation, Shout if the line's gone dark, Oh, if I've called you from the station, Shout if we grew apart, Actually don't, it's my narration, Shouting for me is hard Hard, hard."
Maisie Peters 14 track debut album, 'You Signed Up For This', is released on Gingerbread Man Records on 27th August.
