To coincide with the release of their hotly anticipated second album, 'Who Am I', Pale Waves dropped a video for one of their new tracks, 'Fall To Pieces'. The second track of the new eleven track album is an Indie-Pop banger with a suitably sensitive and reflective undercurrent and is another great advert for the new album.
After posting celebratory pics of their album launch, plastered all over Holland Park Roundabout courtesy of YouTube and front and centre at VUE Leicester Sq via Amazon, Pale Waves also announced that they would be following up with a question and answer session on all things, 'Who Am I', on Tuesday 16th February, via Reddit and @indie_heads.
Pale Waves sophomore album, released through Dirty Hit Records, is the band's first for two and a half years and follows 2018's debut, 'My Mind Makes Noises'. The Manchester four piece have been creating a buzz ever since they signed for Dirty Hit and have not disappointed with the quality of their songs to date. Their latest single is the band's third of the year, coming shortly after 'You Don't Own Me', released at the end of January, and their first track of 2021, 'Easy', released on January 15th.
Whilst 'Who Am I' may not have the immediate appeal of the two previous singles, it's a tad less commercial and a little less obvious, it is still as engaging and just as good.
The accompanying video, directed by Callum L James, takes place for the large part in a warehouse apartment as lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie sings of loss and regret, "How long till we fall to pieces? It’s too much to take, Are we about to break?" The multi-layered vocal has been deftly laid down and provides an irresistible focal point, as does the performance of Baron-Gracie as she delivers the song in the video.
