After releasing her debut album, 'THE END OF EVERYTHING', in May last year Noah Cyrus has kicked off 2021 with a duet, 'Dear August'. Noah has once again teamed up with PJ Harding on her new single, a partnership that has been forged over the course of the last couple of years and one which is also due to give rise to an EP, 'PEOPLE DON'T CHANGE', later in 2021.
Harding and Cyrus co-wrote half of the songs on 'THE END OF EVERYTHING' and have continued to build their songwriting relationship ever since. The critically acclaimed Australian producer and songwriter, PJ, has said that his latest work came after the anxiety he felt caused by the on-going worries of the pandemic. Harding explained, "I'm fairly easygoing, but I was deeply anxious about being in Los Angeles with the pandemic getting out of control. I was having lots of discussions with my family about moving back to Australia. We eventually did. 'Dear August' was written as a love letter to the future, hoping there's a light on the other side. We haven't seen the light, but we're still looking."
Cyrus and Harding clearly have an understanding and a way of working that suits them both, with Noah evidently delighted with their partnership, "He's the most talented dude I've ever partnered with. I genuinely admire him as a writer, singer, musician, and artist. Writing songs before, I honestly felt a little lost."
Whilst the duo could not hook up for the video, it's still a good watch as it pays homage to the movie 'The Notebook'. Noah Cyrus looks stunning in her sheer, 40's inspired, body hugging outfits whilst PJ Harding provides the folk backbone of the song from the other side of the world as the pair are seen writing letters.
Whilst sister Miley may have been grabbing the headlines with her rather more brash and sassy Super Bowl pre-show, Noah has been quietly putting together a tender song of hope that will last longer than any quick ad-break soundbite. Bring on 'PEOPLE DON'T CHANGE'.
