After serving up a slice of 'Justice' together back in March, Justin Bieber has once again hooked up with The Kid LAROI on their latest single, 'Stay'. Justin and The Kid collaborated last on Justin's album track, 'Unstable'. LAROI was just one of a whole host of stars, including Chance The Rapper, Burna Boy and Khalid, who featured on Bieber's sixth studio album.
The Kid LAROI is no stranger to a duet or two himself having recently joined Miley Cyrus for 'WITHOUT YOU' and having previously worked with the likes of Marshmello, Machine Gun Kelly and Juice WRLD.
Bieber and LAROI find themselves conflicted on their latest track as they grapple with the concept of staying faithful. "I do the same thing I told you that I never would, I told you I'd change, even when I knew I never could, I know that I can’t find nobody else as good as you, I need you to stay, need you to stay, hey" LAROI sings as he is held in a state of suspended animation in the video.
The pair hooked up together after Bieber DM'd LAROI on Instagram with the message, "You got the sauce". Both of them had a huge mutual respect for their respective individual work so the prospect of the two working together became a real possibility. After Justin asked The Kid to partner him saying, "I think I have the right song for us", they began to work on 'Unstable'.
Paying back the compliment The Kid LAROI asked Justin to feature on 'Stay', a track that he laid down over a year ago. When he started to work on the song he said, "One day I was just listening to it and was like, f**k, Justin would sound perfect on this"..."So I actually pulled up to the studio that he works at, and I just came with the f**king file. I was like, ‘You ready?’ and he was like, ‘Yup’. And he just did it. He just went into the booth and just freestyled the s**t off top; it was the craziest s**t. I was like, ‘Yo, this guy’s out of his mind.'”
On the day of it's release The Kid LAROI kept his message shorter than his succinct pop song, simply saying, "STAY OUT NOW MFS."
