War of Words' second single, Battleground, was released on December 12th, 2011, the same day as their other track, Panic, which was remixed by La Roux's Ben Langmaid. Elly Jackson has remixed Battlegrounds, which has received air play from the likes of Nick Grimshaw already.
War Of Words are Abi Browning and Lucy Duffield. Both are 23 years old. Abi left home to go to the Brit School and later met Lucy at an audition for a short-lived Motown-inspired girl group. The pair bonded over a mutual love of 90s pop; in particular, Ace of Base's 'All That She Wants', as well as Neneh Cherry's 'Buffalo Stance'.
La Roux's Ben Langmaid met Abi and Lucy through a mutual friend and liked their sound. He has decided to produce their debut album, which does not have a release date as of yet.
The video for Battleground was directed by Esteban Gitton and features Abi and Lucy in 40 different, colourful set ups.
