Fact: Rockers Weezer had a special guest join them onstage at a gig in Los Angeles on Sunday (29Mar15) - frontman Rivers Cuomo's dad joined the band to play drums on Back To The Shack. Cuomo introduced his father Frank, telling fans, "Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in the history of the universe please give a welcome to the Weezer stage my dad, Frank Cuomo."

Fact: Weezer bassist Scott Shriner and his rescued Cairn terriers Calvin and Peanut appear in a new PETA Adopt. Don't Shop campaign, urging dog lovers to adopt pets from shelters.

Fact: Imagine Dragons, Weezer, Kendrick Lamar and Cypress Hill are among the acts who have signed up to perform at the inaugural Made In America festival in Los Angeles. The two-day event, launched by Jay Z in 2012, will take place at L.A. Grand Park over the same Labor Day weekend (30-31Aug14) as the original Philadelphia, Pennsylvania bash, which will feature Kanye West, Kings of Leon, The National and Pharrell Williams, among others.

Fact: Rockers Weezer are to play their most exclusive concert to date when they take over a private island in the Bahamas next year (Feb14) as part of a fan cruise. The band and thousands of devotees will hit the high seas for the latest Weezer cruise from Jacksonville, Florida to Nassau - and there will be one special stop at a deserted island as well as gigs onboard the ship. Weezer staged their inaugural cruise in 2011.

Tweet: "it is sad that we were unable to collaborate with Barry Manilow for 'Sound City'. (yes you read that right)." Rockers Weezer were disappointed Dave Grohl's plans to team them up with the legendary crooner fell through. The three acts had discussed plans for a collaboration for Grohl's documentary Sound City, about the California music studio where his band Nirvana recorded landmark album Nevermind.

Fact: Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has teamed up with iCARLY actress Miranda Cosgrove for a duet. Their song, HIGH MAINTENANCE, is the title track of Cosgrove's upcoming record, which is due for release next month (Mar11).

Fact: Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams surprised Weezer fans at the band's gig in Florida on Wednesday (20Jan10) by making a guest appearance on stage for a performance of the group's hit track SAY IT AIN'T SO.

The concert marked the band's first appearance on stage since the frontman broke five ribs in a freak bus accident in December (09).

Fact: Quirky U.S. rockers Weezer are releasing three different versions of their new song, PORK + Beans, in Britain - so they can pay homage to their favourite tunes. The B-sides of the vinyl and CD releases will feature Weezer covers of R.E.M.'s Oddfellows Local 151, The Psychedelic Furs' Love My Way and Are Friends Electric? by Tubeway Army.

Fact: Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is to release a compilation of demos he recorded between 1992 and 2007, as ALONE - THE HOME RECORDINGS OF RIVERS CUOMO, in December (07). One of the tracks is a cover of gangster rapper Ice Cube's THE BOMB.
