Wesley Snipes has been linked with a return to the role of Blade.

The 52-year-old actor is willing to reprise the role of Marvel Comics' vampire hunter, according to the New York Daily News, which reports that Snipes is being offered $3 million to play the part.

Rights to the 'Blade' film are believed to have reverted from New Line Cinema to Marvel Studios, though the company has still to confirm whether it plans to make another film in the series, which started in 1998.

The original 'Blade' flick was followed by two sequels, 'Blade II' and 'Blade: Trinity', both of which were written by David S. Goyer, who also directed the latter.

And Goyer has said he expects Marvel to reboot the popular series, which is based on the character of Blade, a vampire-human hybrid who strives to protect humans from vampires.

Snipes said earlier this year that he would be interested in reprising the role, telling Loaded magazine: ''There are a couple of ideas on the table. It's so beautiful that no matter where I go people still ask about Blade 4.''

He added: ''The old fans and the new fans would love it but gotta have the right script with the right people involved. My job is to be fit, skilled and ready when the opportunity comes along but at the same time I'm not just sitting around waiting for something to happen.''
