Bobbi Kristina Brown has some injuries which need to be explained, according to sources working closely with police investigators in Atlanta. The 21-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub in her Atlanta home on 31st January. She was reportedly found, by Gordon and a friend, face down in a tub of water. Initial reports suggested it was a medical incident, i.e. not drug or alcohol related, but some questions have been raised concerning how she sustained her alleged and unspecified injuries, according to sources speaking to CNN. Investigators are reportedly looking to Brown's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, for an explanation.

Whitney Houston Bobby Brown Yaya DaCosta

So Lifetime’s Whitney Houston biopic premiered last night. Discuss. This one was directed by Angela Bassett and Lifetime really wanted you to know that. Because, as you may know, if you’ve been paying any attention to Lifetime recently, their Aaliyah biopic was, well, less than great, so they had a lot to make up for.

Whitney Houston
Whitney was better than Aaliyah, but not by much.

Enter Angela Bassett, the woman who who starred in Waiting To Exhale — you remember, the movie where Whitney sang that Shoop Shoop song. She’s in the know and has a lot of healthy respect for Whitney’s story – this time, it had to go right.

Whitney Houston Yaya DaCosta Angela Bassett

Tonight the Lifetime biopic of late singer Whitney Houston finally gets its airing and viewers are expecting the drama onscreen to be at least equal to that which has happened off screen. Since the film was announced, Houston’s family have spoken out against the project, leading first time director Angela Bassett to be continually on the defensive about the film.

Ahead of the film’s television premiere tonight (January 17th), Pat Houston, the late singer’s sister in-law and President of her estate, has released a scathing statement condemning the movie. “I say this to all Whitney's family, friends and fan base: If you watch this movie, watch it knowing that Lifetime is notorious for making bad biopics of deceased celebrities and brace yourself for the worst,” wrote Houston.

It would probably be an understatement to say that Whitney Houston was a beloved musician. The singer, actress and model has been often hailed as the most awarded musician of all time, and whether you listen to her songs as part of the soundtrack for a critically-polarising movie or while dancing the year away on 31st December each year, Houston is still the only artist to have seven consecutive top charting singles.

Coincidently, just a few blocks away from the site of her death stands The Paley Centre for Media - the site of the premiere for 'Whitney'.

Angela Bassett To Make Best Of Whitney Houston Biopic, Despite Protests

Whitney Houston Bobby Brown Angela Bassett

The Whitney Houston Lifetime biopic is going ahead as planned, but the singer’s family is not happy about it. Cissy Houston, mother of the late singer, issued a statement this Wednesday, distancing herself and the family from the film, which she considers poorly researched and disrespectful to the musical icon’s memory.

In a statement issued to Entertainment Tonight, Cissy Houston said: “No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby. In the two years since Whitney's death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn't know her.”

Deborah Cox To Sing Whitney Houston’s Hits As Lifetime Biopic Takes Shape

Whitney Houston Angela Bassett Yaya DaCosta

Production is well underway on Lifetime's upcoming Whitney Houston biopic, which will feature some of the late singing legend's music. However, the songs will be retakes of Houston's hit tracks with Deborah Cox providing the vocals to Yaya DaCosta's acting abilities.

The former America's Next Top Model hopeful is playing Hosuton in the Angela Bassett-directed film but seemingly has been selected for her uncanny physical similarity to Houston rather than her voice match. Therefore, Cox will be singing the "vocal tracks" although "music rights and clearances are still being worked out," according to a Lifetime rep, via E!.

Bassett, who co-starred with Houston in Waiting to Exhale, is making her directorial debut with the Lifetime original movie about the singer, who died in 2007. In particular, the biopic will reportedly focus on Houston's relationship with Bobby Brown, who will be played by Arlen Escarpeta.

How Did Dionne Warwick End Up With Debts Of $10 Million?

Dionne Warwick Whitney Houston

Dionne Warwick, one of the biggest names in soul music history, has filed for bankruptcy in the US after racking up worrying debts of $10 million in taxes, since 1991. It's becoming an all too familiar scenario in the celebrity world, with numerous high-profile stars now getting chased up for their owed taxes. The 'Walk On By' singer owes $7 million to the IRS and more than $3 million in business taxes to the state of California, reports BBC News.

Warwick, 72, has sold over 100 million records worldwide since the 1960s, though has fallen victim to poor financial management, according to her publicist. He added that Warwick had paid back the actual amount of taxes but not the penalties and interest accumulated over the years.

In documents filed in New Jersey, the singer listed around $21,000 in month income and a similar amount in monthly expenses. Her publicist said she had "repeatedly attempted to offer re-payment plans and proposals to the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board for taxes owed."

Whitney Houston FBI Files Reveal Potential Extortion Cases

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston FBI files have been released by the American government agency in agreement with the Freedom Of Information Act, with the consequently public documents revealing several investigations into extortion, while they also contain several overzealous letters from fans whom officials were keeping an eye on.

The FBI have a history of both surveying and helping out top stars, and Houston was evidently in close contact with the agency, with USA Today reporting that some 128 pages of files have been released in connection to the late singer. Though nothing appears to have come from any of the investigations, the most substantial incident looked into appeared to be a suspected extortion case dating back to 1992, that eventually closed without prosecution. The documents revealed show a letter that was sent to the New Jersey offices of Houston’s, from a woman who claimed that she had intimate details of the star’s private life, including romantic relationships, which she would make public unless she was paid $100,000. In investigating the case, the FBI subsequently interviewed Houston and her father, John Houston, as well as two lawyers. The woman was apparently a friend of Houston’s, and the singer does admit in the documents that she confided in her.

Who Knew?! Twice Married Clive Davis Comes Out As Bisexual In Memoir

Clive Davis Bruce Springsteen Whitney Houston

The twice-married and twice-divorced record executive Clive Davis has come out as bisexual in his new memoir The Soundtrack Of My Life. The 80-year-old has never before publically addressed his sexuality, though refers to his "bisexual life," in the concluding pages of the book, due in stores today, reports Rolling Stone magazine.

Davis reflects on his first sexual encounter with a man during "the era of Studio 54," writing, "On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures. Was I nervous? Absolutely. Did the heavens open up? No. But it was satisfying." Afterwards, Davis writes that he went through a period of "soul searching and self-analysis," saying, "I didn't feel as if I had found, or was even searching for, my true self. I had not been at all repressed or confused during either of my marriages."

Davis separated from his second wife several years later and entered into a "monogamous relationship," with a male doctor, who is not named in the book. That relationship ended in 2004, though the mogul notes he has been in a relationship with another man ever since. The book - a sequel to his now out-of -print 1975 memoir Clive: Inside the Record Business - is devoted to his interactions with some of the world's biggest artists over the years. Interestingly, he recalls a particualr conversation with Bruce Springsteen's manager at the time Mike Appell, suggesting that Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J needed a couple more radio friendly songs. Springsteen subsequently wrote 'Blinded By The Light' and 'Sprit In The Night.'

Whitney Houston's Family Influences: Mom Taught Her Singing, Brother Introduced Her To Drugs

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub on February 11th 2012. Her death, which has since been deigned to have been an accident, came as a complete shock to the family and has been put down to her excessive drug use. Now, almost a year on, her brother, Michael, and mother, Cissy, have spoken to Oprah about their beloved and missed sister and daughter, reports the Daily Mail.

In the interview, they affectionately referred to Whitney as 'Nippy', which was a nickname she was given in the family. Tragically, her brother admitted to being the person to introduce Whitney to drugs. "I feel responsible I let it go so far," he told Oprah, pushing back tears. "We were always being together most of the time and her following behind me. I taught her to drive, we played together, everything you do as you're growing up. If you do drugs, you do that together too... and it just got out of hand."

In a less heart-wrenching story, Whitney's mother, Cissy, spoke about how her own talents were passed down to Whitney. "I made her what she was," she boasted. "She had been watching me in sessions and on stage for years, picking up[techniques]...  My son Michael used to joke with me about Nippy's technique-" Ma," he'd say, "Nippy should be in jail for stealing all your riffs and everything. You should sue her."'

Cissy Houston's Memoir: Whitney Houston's Mom Doesn't Blame Bobby Brown For Drug Problems

Whitney Houston Bobby Brown

People magazine have revealed some of the details of the memoir written by Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston. Whitney died almost a year ago, in a hotel bathroom in Beverley Hills, on the eve of last year’s Grammy Awards. In the book, Remembering Whitney, Cissy reveals that she is angry that Whitney died alone. She also reveals that – unlike many others – she does not blame Bobby Brown for her daughter’s drug problems.

“I'm angry she died alone, in those conditions," says Cissy. "I'm still mad about that." Cissy struggled to curtail Whitney’s drug use though, worried that she would end up pushing her away completely. “She started partying and she didn't really know how to stop… I used to wonder what she was doing at night, where she was.” Cissy explains that although she was shocked to see Whitney’s gaunt appearance at the 2001 Michael Jackson tribute concert, she did not express her concern to her daughter. “What was the point?" Cissy asks in the book. "I didn't want her to run completely away from me.

On the subject of Whitney’s ex-husband Bobby Brown, Cissy explains that although Bobby’s treatment of Whitney was wrong, she does not blame him for the fact that she developed drug problems. “I blame him for the way he treated her," she writes, "but I don't blame him for her drug problems." Still, she adds: "He was no help to her at all." Remembering Whitney will be published by Harper Collins.

Whitney Houston's Death Might Not Have Been An Accident, According To PI

Whitney Houston

New evidence has been unearthed surrounding Whitney Houston’s unexpected death in February this year.

Private investigator Paul Huebl claims that he has uncovered evidence that shows that the star had been involved with drugs and eventually falling victim to debt collectors. The PI said toThe National Inquirer: “I have evidence that points to Whitney being a victim of high-powered drug dealers who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs.” According to him, the singer owed money in excess of $1.5million to dealers before her death. The detective claims that he has CCTV footage, pointing to Whitney having been attacked by two men, as well as a coroner’s report which shows evidence of a struggle, prior to the singer’s death.

None of this evidence has been confirmed as valid thus far, but Huebl has said that he is turning all of his leads, collected through a network of informants, over to the FBI in an effort to resolve the case once and for all. After Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room on February 12th, 2012, the coroner’s report showed large traces of cocaine in her blood and her death was attributed to a chronic substance abuse and heart problems. Whether Huebl’s claims will shed any new light on the case, remains to be seen.

Two Bits Of Bobbi Kristina Brown News: Car Crash And Breakup

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston

Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon's relationship has been controversial to say the least, considering that they're lawful family members. Brown is, of course, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston, while Gordon was adopted.

To further exacerbate the situation, they're appearing on Lifetime series, "The Houstons", which documents Houston's family lives for everyone's perusal. It was on Twitter, though, that rumours of their breakup surfaced. "@REALbkBrown and I are not engaged or dating. Just close like we have always been," Gordon wrote on the social media site, while Brown posted, "I guess it's time 4me2stop depending on anymore. The second bit of news - and it's only second because no one got hurt - is that Brown was involved in a frightening car crash while leaving her apartment in Alpharetta, Georgia, after allegedly losing control of the car while making a left turn, The New York Daily News reported. Bob Dylan And Paul McCartney Songs Among Grammy Hall Of Fame List

Bob Dylan Sir Paul McCartney Whitney Houston Elton John Billy Joel James Brown Richard Pryor Little Richard

Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney are amongst the artists to have songs inducted into the Grammy Museum’s Hall of Fame in 2013. Dylan has ‘the Times They Are A Changin’’ up for the honour and Macca has ‘Band on the Run’ on the list.

In a statement from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, reported by the Sacramento Bee, Neil Portnow said “With the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame celebrating 40 years, it's especially important to note that these entries continue the tradition of inducting a wide variety of recordings that have inspired and influenced both fans and music makers for generations. Memorable for being both culturally and historically significant, we are proud to add them to our growing catalog of outstanding recordings that have become part of our musical, social and cultural history.”

One stipulation of being entered onto the list is that the song must have been recorded at least 25 years ago and have had lasting significance. Also on the list of inductees are Whitney Houston and Elton John’s self-titled albums, Billy Joel’s ‘Piano Man,’ recordings by James Brown, Richard Pryor and Little Richard, amongst others. Next year’s Grammy awards will be broadcast on February 10, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT on the CBS Network, they are amongst the most highly regarded awards in the music industry. This years awards were marked with a tribute to the late Whitney Houston, who died just the day before the ceremony.

The Grammy Hall Of Fame List For 2013 Marks Its 40th Year

Whitney Houston James Brown Bob Dylan Buck Owens Richard Pryor Little Richard Billy Joel Sir Paul McCartney AC DC Frank Sinatra

Since 1973, the Grammys have been inducting particular recordings that have stood the test of time into their hall of fame. The list doesn't only include music and one of the most famous hall of famers in there is Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I Have A Dream' speech. The institution have just released a few of the artists and tracks that will be included in the hall of fame for 2013 on their home website.

Included in the list are James Brown, Bob Dylan, Carlos Gardel, Buck Owens, Richard Pryor, Little Richard, Paul McCartney & The Wings, and Billy Joel. Neil Portnow, the President and CEO of the Recording Academy spoke of next year's importance. "With the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame celebrating 40 years, it's especially important to note that these entries continue the tradition of inducting a wide variety of recordings that have inspired and influenced both fans and music makers for generations," he said. "Memorable for being both culturally and historically significant, we are proud to add them to our growing catalog of outstanding recordings that have become part of our musical, social, and cultural history."

There are a couple of tracks in this years list of 27 entrants that are surprising, if only that it's take 40 years for them to make the cut. Frank Sinatra's 'New York, New York' will be in the hall of fame as of next year, though surely its iconographic status had already more proven its worth. AC/DC's 'Back in Black' also appears in the list. Perhaps to pay tribute to a great figure in music, Whitney Houston's self titled album will also be inducted, marking the further great achievements and talents from all over the world, and rounding off a great 40 years of the Grammy hall of fame.

Bobby Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Second DUI Bust Of The Year

Bobby Brown Whitney Houston

Singer Bobby Brown pleaded not guilty to his second DUI charge in seven months, with the troubled singer potentially looking at a maximum of two years behind bars if he is convicted.

The New Jack Swing wunderkind entered the plea through his lawyer, Tiffany Feder, and did not appear at the hearing in person in front of the awaiting media and his Los Angeles County criminal judge. The New York Daily News reported that Brown, who was husband to the late Whitney Houston during her darkest years, was successful in his plea of not guilty and ordered to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week in the build up to his follow-up hearing on December 13th.

His second offence of the year saw Brown get pulled over by a Californian police officer at around 1 a.m. on Oct. 24 for an alleged traffic violation, with Sgt. Pablo Monterrosa telling the NY Daily News shortly after that although he failed the field sobriety test and the Breathalyzer he was cooperative throughout the whole procedure, something that no doubt added to his slap on the hand punishment in front of the judge. However, it isn't over yet for Brown as the court hearing in December could potentially see the star get sent behind bars for up to two years.

Bobbi Kristina Set To Inherit $20m From Whitney Houston Estate

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston

The daughter of the late Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, is to receive $20m from her mother's estate, after reaching the end of a complicated legal battle, Entertainmentwise reports.

Kristina was entangled in legal complications with her grandmother Cissy Houston and her aunt Pat after they attempted to put a stop to the original payment schedule, claiming those close to Bobbi would take advantage of her fortune, but reports suggest that those issues have been resolved, and the young star is set for a windfall. She will receive the money in three segments, more specifically, she can expect three large payments: the first 10 per cent when she turns 21, nearly 20 per cent when she turns 25 and the rest when she hits 30. It was, in fact, revealed soon after Houston's sudden death in February at the age of 48, that Bobbi was the sole beneficiary to her estate.

Currently starring in The Houstons: On Our Own; the show that follows her family around, Bobby is engaged to Nick Gordon, who Whitney took in as a son when he was 12. The pair have had to deny the accusations of wrongdoing, with Nik saying, "Everyone gets it wrong, I was never officially ... it's not incest." But family relatives are not convinced."How do you go from being a brother to being a boyfriend?" Houston's brother Gary says on the reality TV show. "It's a crazy concept."

Bobbi Kristina To Receive Inheritance As Her Mother Wanted It- Despite Grandmother's Wishes.

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston

Fears surrounding the health and well being of the late Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, after her mother's death, have been loudly vocalised by her family, particularly aunt Pat and grandmother Cissy. Undoubtedly, the fears arise in the light of Houston's difficulty with drugs and her premature death, earlier this year.

In response to their concerns, Pat and Cissy chose to go ahead with court proceedings in an attempt to stop Bobbi Kristina from getting her hands on the massive $20m inheritance left to her by her mother. Grandmother, Cissy Houston is 'deathly afraid'- according to TMZ- that Bobbi Kristina will meet the same tragic end as her mother. The case filed by Cissy and Pat is not to remove the inheritance from Whitney's only daughter, but rather to rearrange the schedule by which it is given to her. It has now been made clear that the court has dismissed the case, as Cissy backs out, and Bobbi will receive the money as was stated in the will. That is, she will receive an estimated $2m at the age of 21, $4m when she turns 25, and the final instalment of $14m at 30. No matter when she gets it, it's a helluva lot of money.

Bobbi's engagement to her step-brother Nick Gordon has also raised eyebrows, particularly in her family, few of whom are taking it very seriously. Having lost her mother at the age of 18 everyone expected her to run off the rails a little bit, but so far she's doing really well, and she agrees, as she told Access Hollywood, "I'm doing better than I ever thought I would." Whether that's because her family are keeping close tabs on her, or whether her mother has endowed her with good sense doesn't matter, we simply hope she continues doing well- learning all the right lessons from her late mother.

The Houstons: A Step Too Far For Whitney Houston's Grieving Family?

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston

The Houstons: On Our Own premiered on US TV yesterday (October 24, 2012) and the general consensus seems to be that this simply isn’t a show that needed to be made right now.

Whitney Houston only passed away in February, yet already, the cameras are rolling inside the Houston family home, where her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, her mother, Cissy Houston and her brother Gary are all mourning her death and dealing with the media attention that has swamped their family like never before.

Bobby Brown Arrested For Second Time This Year

Bobby Brown Whitney Houston

Singer Bobby Brown was arrested early this morning, Wednesday, October 24th, on the suspicion of a DUI - his second such arrest this year, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Los Angeles Police Department Officer Venus Hall said officers pulled Brown over near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Corbin Avenue about 1 a.m. and "when they approached him, they smelled the alcohol." It is still unknown if Brown took a Breathalyzer test but Hall said he was booked and released. If the story turns out to be valid, then Brown really should have known better; he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in March near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue. The police pulled him over for talking on his cellphone but then administered a field sobriety test and arrested him. This earned him three years' informal probation and a day in jail, as well as participation in a 90-day alcohol education program and a $390 fine.

Bobby is, of course, the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, who died in February after an accidental drowning complicated by the effects of heart disease and cocaine, which was found in her system. The couple's relationship was notoriously turbulent, and the two waged public battles with substance abuse before divorcing after 15 years of marriage in 2007.

Whitney Houston's Family Helped By 'The Houstons: On Our Own'

Whitney Houston R Kelly Celine Dion

For many, a new reality TV show that follows the family's every move wouldn't be an ideal way to aid the grieving process after a dramatic death, but for Whitney Houston's family, 'The Houstons: On Our Own' has been a great help.

"The show has kept the family close together, (instead of) isolated from one another. We talk about things, we are very open, and we pay attention to the ones who need consoling the most. Doing the show certainly has helped in a huge way," Pat Houston, Whitney's manager and sister-in-law, told Reuters. "There are preconceptions about the family that just aren't true. We are a strong family, a working family, and a typical family. Our family member just happens to be an icon," she added. "You will see a family that is grieving, that loves one another. You will see a family that is trying to move on."

The reality TV show makes its debut this Wednesday (October, 24) and will set the stage for a November of tributes to the troubled singer, who tragically passed away earlier on in 2012 after drowning in the bathtub, having taken cocaine. Upcoming projects include an official glossy book of photos, a compilation album of Houston's biggest hits that features a new duet version of "I Look To You" with R. Kelly, and the November 16 TV broadcast of a special Grammy tribute starring Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Celine Dion.

Britney Spears Pays Tribute To Whitney Houston At Star Studded Event

Whitney Houston Britney Spears Halle Berry Usher Jennifer Hudson

The brand new X-Factor judge, Britney Spears, attended a 'solemn' emotional tribute to Whitney Houston entirely organised and funded by the Grammys entitled “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston” held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this week. The esteemed guests all chose to not broach the darker sides of Houston's later life, instead opting for a celebratory slant, praising her career and achievements.

There were numerous musical tributes in the show. Usher sang 'I Believe In You and Me' and Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams gave a duet of 'Count on me'. According to NY Daily News, Houston's family broke down in tears at the gospel singers' rendition of the song. Jennifer Hudson opted for more up-beat song choices and went for a medly of How Will I Know, I'm Every Woman and I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Celine Dion was also meant to be performing but unfortunately couldn't make it. She has, however, recorded her own version of 'Greatest Love of All' but it will be included on the hour long show which will be aired on CBS in November.

Spears said that she “admired Whitney” and that it was a cover of Houston's 'I Have Nothing' that ended up winning her a record deal. Halle Berry was another guest at the event whose speech was particularly moving. She spoke of Houston's impact upon women: “She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dream and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all... I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston."

Is Bobbi Kristina Brown Engaged To Her ‘Brother’ Nick Gordon?

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston

Bobbi Kristina Brown appears to have confirmed the slightly disturbing news that she has gotten engaged to her adopted brother Nick Gordon.

The daughter of the late Whitney Houston and the former New Jack Swing wunderkind Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina made the news public during the sneak peak of her new reality TV show set to air in the near future. The show, The Houstons: On Our Own, is a fly-on-the-wall account of the ins and outs of the Houston family, following the death of Whitney, showing how the clan are surviving after her tragic passing earlier this year.

19 year-old Bobbi had been asked countless times in the past whether her controversial love affair was fact or fiction and the teenager had rebuffed the claims on numerous occasions, insisting that they weren’t true. Now it seems that the claims were not only true, but also that the two may have been pretty serious about their relationship.

Bobbi Kristina Brown's Bizarre Step-Brother Engagement

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston Gary Houston

Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late, great Whitney Houston, is engaged to her step-brother, Nick Gordon. In Bobbi's defence, she's still a teenager and her mum died this year, a combination that promotes neither common sense nor sanity.

p>Sometimes ending up in a relationship with a step-sibling isn't really, really weird. But that's more when you barely know each other before adulthood, didn't grow up together and are not necessarily close enough to consider your parent's partner as your adoptive mother. That's not the case with this pair. Nick Gordon has lived with the Houston's for ten years, since his father went to prison, which means Bobbi has lived with her older-brother-come-fiancee since the age of 9.

Since her mother's death, Bobbi has been the subject of a new reality TV show to be called “The Houstons: On Our Own” which will begin airing on October 24th. Bobbi originally denied reports of the engagement, after she was shot with a stunning diamond and sapphire ring on her ring finger, but in the trailer for the show she's seen 'professing her love' for Nick Gordon as the Huffington Post puts it.

Gary and Patricia Houston are also seen in the trailer, both of whom are shocked and outraged. Patricia, Whitney's sister in law and manager, said “Engagement? This is unacceptable.” While Gary, clearly bemused said "No one knew that from a godson that you would turn into a boyfriend... No one knew that."

Are Bobbi Kristina Brown And Nick Gordon Engaged?

Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston

It's been something of a hot topic for the Houston family in recent weeks, and now all could be revealed; is Bobbi Kristina Brown really engaged to her childhood friend Nick Gordon? Aged just 18, Brown caused a shock when, in the wake of her mother Whitney Houston's death, she was seeing kissing and canoodling with Gordon. The pair have since formed a relationship and there are rumours that they're planning to get married.

Now a clip previewing the forthcoming reality show 'The Houstons: On Our Own' shows Brown flashing a sapphire rock that once belonged to her mother, standing next to Gordon and telling her family "we're engaged." So what's the big deal about all this? Well, although not related by blood, Gordon was taken in by the Houston family when Brown was extremely young, and the pair of them have grown up, in effect, as brother and sister together.

This change of affairs that's come out during an extremely tough year for the family, hasn't gone down well with many of Brown's relatives at all. "A lot of teenagers, when they hit 18, they think they're grown," her aunt Pat Houston told ABCNews.com. "They think they know it all, they think they know about relationships. You just have to be there to navigate and guide them." She added, "You have to hope that their feelings will not get hurt, but they will."

Good

An energetic cast and some terrific music make up for the rather hackneyed plot of this Dreamgirls-style drama. Remade from a 1976 film, the story is that familiar trajectory of musicians who achieve fame only to fall into a string of ugly problems. It's just about watchable, but what makes it notable is that it features Whitney Houston in her last film role.

It's set in 1968 Detroit, where Sister (Ejogo) is determined to become a star. Her singer-songwriter sister Sparkle (Sparks) is the one with real talent, but she's happy to stay in the background with their other sister Dee (Sumpter). As Sister and Her Sisters, they are managed by Stix (Luke), a fast-talking charmer who falls for Sparkle. But the girls' intensely religious mother (Houston) is under no illusions: she has been there, done that and continually warns her daughters that they shouldn't go the same way she did. But of course, they have to live their messy lives themselves.

Since it's such a familiar story, the film has a cheesy, soapy feel to it, playing on the sisters' rebellion against their religious upbringing. Of course, danger is represented in the men they fall for. While good-girl Sparkle tries to keep Stix at arms' length for awhile at least, Sister must choose between two men: the poor but nice Levi (Hardwick) and the flashy but drug-addled Satin (Epps). Since we know that she will choose the wrong guy, we know it's not going to be a happy journey for her. But this trawl through the dark side gives Ejogo a chance to steal the film with a much more emotionally charged performance.
