Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston's Daughter, Hospitalised After Being Found Unconscious In Bathtub

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston, has been found unconscious in a bathtub at her home in Atlanta. Brown was immediately rushed to hospital and her condition is unknown although reports suggest Brown is breathing. It is unclear why Brown fell unconscious but the incident has similarities to the circumstances in which her mother was found dead in 2012.

21-year-old Brown was found in her bathtub on Saturday (31st January) morning at approximately 10.25am, according to CNN. She was discovered by her husband, Nick Gordon, and a family friend. She was reportedly "not breathing" when she was found. Gordon immediately called 911 and began CPR before the emergency services arrived.

"They [Gordon and his friend] called 911, started CPR on her, and police arrived first. We took over the lifesaving measures until the fire/rescue and an ambulance arrived," a police spokesperson told CNN.

Brown, according to reports in TMZ, is now breathing and remains in ICU. It is unclear why Brown fell unconscious but the incident occurs just shy of the anniversary of Houston's death. Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel on February 11th 2012 and was later pronounced dead. An autopsy later revealed 48-year-old Houston had drowned after losing consciousness as a result of cocaine use and heart disease. News outlets are speculating about the similarities between Brown's hospitalisation and her mother's tragic death.

Brown is the only child of Houston and Bobby Brown. Even before her mother's death, Brown was featured on a number of reality series, such as Being Bobby Brown, and was the subject of constant media speculation. She also starred in another reality show, following Houston's death, entitled The Houstons: On Our Own. In January 2014, Brown married Gordon, a friend of the family who had lived with the Houstons from the age of 12.
