Nick Gordon and a friend tried to revive the then-21 year old before paramedics arrived and rushed her to hospital, where doctors placed her in a medically-induced coma. She has been fighting for her life ever since.

An now, amid claims Gordon is in part responsible for his girlfriend's near-drowning incident and days after Bobbi Kristina's pal Alex Reid revealed Brown was scared of her boyfriend, a recording taped by a family member in February (15), appears to suggest Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter was taking too many drugs.

In the recording, obtained by TMZ.com, Nick Gordon says, "I'll tell you the honest truth, Krissy, she was under a lot of stress and we were all doing drugs and you know, all, all drinking, bro... She just did too much man... I will officially stay away from bath tubs forever, I'll tell you that... When Krissy wakes up she'll tell the truth to everybody."

Bobbi Kristina is currently close to death in a hospice in Georgia, while Gordon is considered a person of interest in the investigation surrounding her near-drowning. If Brown dies, the case will become a murder investigation.

Court-appointed conservator Bedelia C. Hargrove has filed a $10 million (£6.7 million) suit against Gordon, who recently completed a rehab stint to tackle his substance abuse issues, in Atlanta's Fulton County Superior Court. In the documents, Gordon is accused of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
