Michael Masser, The U.s. Songwriter Who Penned Hits For Whitney Houston And Diana Ross, Has Died Aged 74.
Ross paid tribute to the songwriter, composer and producer, who wrote her hits The Last Time I Saw Him, Touch Me In The Morning, and Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To?).
She tweeted, "MICHAEL MASSER... so many memories... He will live on... through his beautiful songs... Touch me in the morning, It's my turn, Theme from Mahogany."
Masser's hits also included Houston's 1985 track The Greatest Love of All, which was originally recorded by George Benson for the 1977 Muhammed Ali biopic The Greatest. He also penned Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson's 1983 hit Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You.
He co-wrote and co-produced many of his songs with Gerald Goffin, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song for the Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To?)
Masser passed away on Thursday (09Jul15) in Rancho Mirage, California.
