Director Jordan Peele made history at the 2018 Oscars - becoming the first black person to win a statue for Best Original Screenplay for his directional debut, Get Out. Now the 39-year-old has said he hopes his win with inspire the next generation of African-Americans to greatness in the film industry.

Actress Stacey Dash has accused the BET (Black Entertainment Television) network of lying to black Americans by ‘telling them that the rest of America is racist.’ The Clueless star has been embroiled in a feud with the network ever since she told Fox News she wanted to get rid of the BET and their annual awards show.

The feud started when Dash appeared on ‘Fox & Friends’ on Wednesday (January 20th) and said: “If we don’t want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black.”

Raven-Symoné has come under fire on social media for comments she made during an episode of ‘The View’ on Thursday. During a segment on the talk show, the former Disney Channel star said she would discriminate against any job applicant with a “ghetto” name.

During a discussion about a study released in the Journal of Evolution and Human Behaviour, the host said there were certain names she would discriminate against if she were an employer. “Just to bring it back, can we take back ‘racist’ and say ‘discriminatory,’ because I think that’s a better word,” she told her co-hosts.

'The View' Loses Three More Sponsors Over Nurses Controversy

Three more big name sponsors have pulled their advertising from ‘The View’ following jokes made by hosts Joy Behar and Michelle Collins about the nursing profession earlier this week. According to TMZ, Party City, Snuggle and McCormick Spice have all ditched the show, following Johnson & Johnson and Eggland’s Best who pulled their advertising on Thursday.

On the McCormick Facebook page the spice company wrote, ‘Thank you for expressing your concerns. Like you, we also value and admire nurses, so we have paused advertising on the daytime television show in question.’ Snuggle have also issued a statement in praise of nurses.

It’s official, Raven-Symoné is your new permanent co-host on ‘The View’. The happy news was delivered at the beginning of Wednesday’s show by host Whoopi Goldberg, before confetti rained down and Raven walked out to the song ‘Celebrate’.

The 54-year-old actor and comedian will receive the 18th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Murphy will receive the award on 18th October 2015 at a gala performance at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.

While John McCain’s daughter typically describes herself as conservative, she does hold fairly liberal views on some issues, including civil rights. Meghan is an outspoken advocate for same-sex marriage, but she is also a supporter of the Pro-Life movement, so her voice could definitely heat up the conversation on the ABC show.
