The cast of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ made fans’ dreams come true on Monday, when they staged a reunion over two decades since the show went off the air.

A photo of the cast as they are now (including Will Smith) was shared by Alfonso Ribeiro on Instagram, showing the group posing on a beachside deck. No explanation for the get together was given, but the pic has made fans wonder if an onscreen reunion could be on the cards.

Along with Ribeiro (who played Carlton) and Smith were: Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian) and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey the butler).

Sadly missing was James Avery, who played Will's uncle Phil, who passed away in 2014, following complications from heart surgery.

Ribeiro captioned the pic: “Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family. Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete.”

In 2015 it had been reported that the show was set for a reboot, with Smith serving as executive producer. But last August Smith denied the rumours, saying a reboot would only happen ‘when hell freezes over’.

"I don't think ever, like pretty close to when hell freezes over," Smith told E! News when quizzed about the reboot rumours. "Like we're going to leave that one alone."

Ribeiro had shared similar sentiments during a 2014 interview, following his ‘Dancing with the Stars’ win.

"Since the passing of my favourite dad in the world, ever on TV, James Avery passed, the chances of a Fresh Prince coming back together will not happen,” he told E! News. “I don't think we feel as a cast that we would do even our fans justice.”
