The Robertsons, the family the reality show Duck Dynasty centres on, are known for a variety of things including their beards and ability to make offensive and out of date comments at the drop of a hat (or dead duck). However, musical talent does not rank highly on their list of talents.

The musical is based on a book written by Willie Robertson and his wife Korie.

Jep Robertson, the star of reality series 'Duck Dynasty,' is currently recovering and happy to be alive after suffering a seizure sometime last week while enjoying a deer-hunting getaway. The 36-year-old suddenly fell ill, but was luckily with friends who immediately rushed him to hospital.

Jep is currently being treated in hospital

Jep, who is the youngest of Phil Robertson's children, was accompanied by his brother and Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson when hospitalized. He is currently being treated with antibiotics to battle any infections that may have triggered the seizure, according to TMZ.

Jep Robertson, the star of reality series Duck Dynasty, was reportedly been rushed to hospital last Sunday (19th October). It seems the 36-year-old was on a deer hunt when he was taken suddenly ill. Robertson reportedly suffered a seizure but fortunately had people close by to assist.

During the interview in question, the 68 year-old aired his strong homophobic views and linked being gay with bestiality.

Duck Dynasty returned for its fifth season on Wednesday, 15 January, night and did so with expectations held high for what was so often considered America's favourite reality series. The latest season's premiere episode did not wield the same kind of success that producers were hoping for however, as viewer figures for the premiere episode came in well below expectations.

At the start of the show's fourth season in 2013, before it was common knowledge that Robertson family patriarch Phil was a homophobic racist, Duck Dynasty was drawing in more than 20 million viewers per episode. This week, when the show returned for a fifth season, it only managed to draw in 8.5 million viewers at its peak, more than 12 million fewer than the amount that tuned in last year. The show suffered particularly in the much-sought-after 18-24 demographic, which made up around half of the show's viewership, with 4.2 million tuning in.

In an outrageous tale of modern morality, Phil Robertson's comments have been defended by more big names in America who are keen to associate themselves with the controversial reality television star. Last week, GQ Magazine released an interview with the Duck Dynasty patriarch in which he aired some rather homophobic and racist views. Since Robertson's words have been published, many have risen up in an angry tide to criticise the duck hunter leading to network A&E suspending the 67 year-old from the show.

However, an alarming number of big name politicians and religious campaigners have emerged from the fray to lend their support. Though Robertson issued what is effectively an apology, saying in a statement: "I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other," the star has refused to retract his incendiary remarks.

Initially being sold for $29.98 before a sale price of $24.96 was introduced this week, Blame It All on My Roots will likely be lining plenty of country fan's stockings come Christmas. The box set sold an additional 146,000 copies this week, enough to see it move two places to the top.

Willie Robertson, the self-described 'redneck millionaire' star of A&E's hit reality series Duck Dynasty might be the next famous face to make the leap from television to politics. A report from the Washington Examiner published on Monday (12 August) states that the reality star is being courted by some operatives from the Republican Party to potentially become their next big name representative.

The retiring Republican Rep. Rodney Alexander is leaving behind his post in Louisiana and reports state that Robertson is fast emerging as one of the prime candidates for the vacant seat. Alexander will leave his seat in September to go work in Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's cabinet and a one-off election in September will take place to determine who will replace him, and it looks as though the Republicans have already found their preferred suitor. Should he be chosen as the Republican candidate, Robertson will be competing to represent Louisiana's 5th District, which includes most of the northeastern and central portions of the state, including the cities Alexandria and Robertson's native Monroe.
