Woody Allen has become the latest big name to make a leap into the online world of streaming, with the announcement that the veteran director will be writing and directing a comedy series for Amazon Prime.

Little is known about the series at the moment, which is going under the name 'Untitled Woody Allen Project', however Amazon have already ordered it to a full season. There’s also no projected release date, but something we do know is that each episode will be half an hour.

And in random mid week news, a man has been arrested after allegedly causing trouble on the set of Woody Allen’s new movie. Allen is currently filming on location near Brown University in Providence, for an as-of-yet untitled project to be released in 2015.

The untitled movie is due out sometime in 2015. Filming will continue as scheduled.

Officers of the local police department were called on the scene on Tuesday, August 5, after the suspect hurled a chair at security guards and ran off. He had previously arrived on the set and started asking “weird questions”about the movie's stars, who include Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix and Parker Posey. The incident raises concerns about the security of the actors and everyone involved in the project, however the project will continue as scheduled.

In ‘Magic in the Moonlight’ - the latest comedy from Woody Allen – Colin Firth applied his bumbling British charm to Stanley (alias: Wei Ling Soo), a British stage magician and master illusionist, brought to the French Riviera to showcase his talents in the 1920s. He is charged with unmasking Emma Stone’s Sophie, a so-called spiritualist who is suspected of exploiting a rich family with her faux clairvoyant ways.

Unfortunately, Allen hasn’t been able to create the same fervent critical buzz that surrounded his latest major project, Blue Jasmine. The reviews have been filed, and ‘Magic in the Moonlight’ currently holds a rotten rating of 55% on Rotten Tomatoes.

He is directed to the South of France where his assignment is to unmask a purported spiritual medium named Sophie (Stone), who has been mystifying people with her seemingly otherworldly skills.

The controversy surrounding Woody Allen and Mia Farrow's bizarre family continues but Diane Keaton doesn't believe the rumours alleging Allen molested his adopted daughter.

Diane Keaton has defended Woody Allen in a recent interview with a British newspaper.

Allen's adopted daughter with Mia Farrow, Dylan Farrow, wrote an editorial in The New York Times in which she alleges Allen sexually assaulted her when she was seven years old. Allen responded in an open letter stating he had no history of sexual assault and the timing of the allegations, at the same time as his divorce to Farrow, appears suspicious.

Sofia Vergara has been speaking about her nerves at shooting a ménage a trois with Sharon Stone and John Turturro in Woody Allen's romantic drama Fading Gigolo. The movie - easily the least talked about bit of cinema ever - has a limited release in the U.S this weekend.

When Dylan Farrow published an open letter concerning her father, Woody Allen, reiterating her claims that he sexually abused her, Hollywood didn’t really know how to react. Allen was in the midst of praise for his latest movie Blue Jasmine, for which Cate Blanchett would go on to win the Oscar, and Allen’s career was at its zenith.

Yet it wasn’t so easy to ignore Farrow’s claims this time round. The first time the accusations had been made she was a child and Allen had ultimately not been charged with any crime, despite the case being investigated by prosecutors. But this time there was a 28 year old woman making the claims, eloquently and clearly she once again repeated the accusations she had made against Allen as a child, this time with her own adult analysis.  Farrow asks in her letter “What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson? You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten me?”

And more to the point, who thought it was a good idea to give them a microphone and put them on the television? Usually the answer is E! news.

For instance, E! news correspondent Alicia Quarles recently asked The Mindy Project star Mindy Kaling what race of guys she likes. Yes, you read that right. “Who’s your type?” she asked Kaling, who seemed confused by the question. “Good looking?”, Kaling responded with the quizzical intonation of someone who is confounded. This wasn’t enough for Quarles though, who continued “So, any colour?”. It’s more than a little intrusive to begin with to ask the star what kind of men she likes, but to demand a race be included in her bizarre interrogation is just too much.

Stephen King has been compelled to apologise profusely after comments that he made regarding Woody Allen's daughter, Dylan Farrow, and her claims that her father sexually abused her when she was a young girl. In a tweet that has now been deleted, the author wrote after reading about the story: "Boy, I'm stumped on that one. I don't like to think it's true, and there's an element of palpable bitchery there, but..."

Woody Allen has responded to the claims of sexual abuse made by his daughter Dylan Farrow in an open letter published by the New York Times. In the letter, Dylan speaks out publically for the first time regarding the accusations that Allen abused his adoptive daughter. The claims first surfaced in 1993 when the filmmaker and his then-girlfriend Mia Farrow were splitting up.

Trouble has been brewing for Woody Allen since the Golden Globes and the now infamous tweets from his son Rohan Farrow. The scandal finally hit a breaking point last Saturday, when Dylan Farrow accused him in an open letter published on the New York Times website of molesting her in a "dim, closet-like attic" at the age of seven. At the time, Allen was investigated, but never charged.

Woody Allen is yet to respond to the allegations directly.

The director is yet to respond directly to the allegations, but his publicist Leslee Dart issued a sort of placeholder statement on his behalf, saying that Allen would respond “very soon” and pointing out the findings of the original investigation.

Woody Allen and Mia Farrow's adoptive daughter, Dylan O'Sullivan Farrow, has published an open letter detailing the abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of Allen.

Woody Allen adopted two children, Dylan and Moses, with Mia Farrow in addition to their biological son.

Farrow and Allen were in a relationship from 1980 and had one biological child, Ronan 'Satchel' Farrow, together and adopted two children, one of whom is Dylan. The couple separated in 1992 when Farrow discovered Allen was having a relationship with her adoptive daughter, Soon-Yi. During the subsequent custody battle, there were a number of allegations made against Allen relating to alleged abuse of then 7-year-old Dylan. The case was brought to court in September 1993 and a number of rulings dismissed Allen's abuse charges, according to The American Law Library. However, the Connecticut State Attorney Frank Maco, announced that he had "probable cause" to prosecute Allen, he was dropping the case in order to protect Dylan from "the trauma of appearing in court."

Golden Globes Glory: Last weekend's Golden Globe awards set hearts racing ahead of March's Oscars with plenty of deserving winners next to a few jaw-dropping snubs. 12 Years A Slave predictably came out on top with the big gong but a few unpredictabilities set award odds and Oscars speculation askew. Newbie comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine saw off rivals to claim two awards whilst Blue Jasmine's Cate Blanchett took the leading lady award alongside Dallas Buyers Club's  for the men.

Gravity's Alfonso Cuarón stole Best Director from Steve McQueen whilst Breaking Bad and Behind The Candelabra snatched the big TV awards. The surprise wins also made for some truly memorable speeches too, with Elisabeth Moss exclamation of "Oh s**t!" and Jacqueline Bisset's sweary ramble marking two particular highlights. It's actually skint florist worker Fioravante who gets paid for sex though, as the movie twists the common assumptions of prostitution.

Ronan Farrow, the son of actress Mia Farrow, is joining MSNBC to host his own weekday show that will reportedly focus on youth activism. The 25 year-old law school graduate, journalist and human rights activist has also worked as part of the Obama administration as a foreign policy official, founded the State Department's Office of Global Youth Issues, and is adviser to youth on the Nigerian AIDS epidemic, Angola and Darfur.

Mia Farrow stated her son Ronan Farrow could "possibly" have been fathered by Frank Sinatra. Farrow, who was married to Sinatra from 1966-68, was in a relationship was in a relationship with Woody Allen at the time of her son's birth. In Vanity Fair's November issue, Farrow and her eight children (biological and adopted) discussed their home life and their relationships with their mother's three partners. 

Mia Farrow claims her son Ronan is "possibly" Frank Sinatra's son.

A DNA test to determine Ronan's paternity has never been undertaken, had Sinatra truly been the father of Ronan, he would have been 73 at the time of his birth. Allen responded "The article is so fictitious and extravagantly absurd that he is not going to comment."

The Rosemary's Baby star Mia Farrow has hinted that her son Ronan, apparently with Woody Allen, may actually be the son of her ex-husband Frank Sinatra. The actress was married to the legendary singer from 1966 to 1968 though their relationship continued sporadically, including during her early years with director Allen.
