Rapper Andre Johnson's Member? It Can't Be Saved After Severance

Wu Tang Clan

Doctors have been able to reattach Andre Johnson's penis after he cut it off and jumped from a second story balcony in a widely reported suicide attempt on Wednesday. The Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated rapper was rushed to L.A's Cedars-Sinai hospital where he is said to be safe but unfortunately will not be able to see his member successfully reattached, according to TMZ.

Johnson, AKA Christ Bearer, is a member of the group Northstar, which was founded by Wu-Tang Clan member RZA. Apparently RZA hasn't done work with the group for several years and the hip hop collective has even gone as far as to distance itself from the rapper and his actions, sending out a now-deleted website post saying "Parental Advisory : Don't Believe The HYPE. This Mother F***er Ain't Got S**t to do with The WUTANG Brand," according to Gawker.

Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin Split: Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin announced this week that they were splitting up. Well, instead they described their split as a "conscious uncoupling," a phrase that drew scorn and mockery from the internet. The pair had reportedly been testing their separation for a year and finally decided to go public. In an entry on the Iron Man star's website, the couple explained that being parents to their two children was the priority for them right now.

L'Wren Scott's Will: The last will and testament of the late fashion designer L'Wren Scott has been made public. The former model was found hanged in her Manhattan apartment on Monday 17th March whilst her boyfriend, Mick Jagger, was on tour with the Rolling Stones. Jagger is the only named beneficiary in L'Wren's will, with her adoptive siblings explicitly denied any of her $9 million estate. Scott's sister, Jan Shane, has lashed out at the Jagger's for turning the designer's death into a "media circus" - read about what else she had to say.

Bestival 2013 - Live Review

Q: What do you get if you leave 55,000 people on the Isle Of Wight for four days in September?

Bestival 2013 - Live Review

A: Possibly the messiest weekend of excess on the UK's summer festival calendar.

Having become the official closing party to the summer's festivities that started back in May at Brighton's Great Escape, Rob De Bank's Bestival shindig has developed a life of its own in recent years. Growing to over five times the size of its inaugural 2004 event, Bestival can boast at being one of the few music festivals where the line-up is often secondary in the eyes of many revellers. Described as a "boutique Glastonbury" by some, it's become one of the most prominent names on the calendar, which is testament to its creator and his team of organisers in building and maintaining such a prestigious gathering.

Primavera Sound Festival - 2013 Preview

It's May and festival season is upon us, which means it will soon be time for Primavera Sound 2013, arguably the pinnacle of Europe's increasingly popular schedule. Set in beautiful Barcelona and mainly based on the Parc Del Forum site at the heart of the Diagonal Mar area of the Sant Marti district, this year's event will be the thirteenth edition of a festival that first opened its doors in the summer of 2001.

Primavera Sound Festival 2013 - Preview

As has been the norm in recent years, Primavera week kicks off with a series of fringe events starting on Monday 20th May. Sonic Boom's Spectrum headline the Sala Apolo venue, with the likes of Bo Ningen, Godflesh, Veronica Falls and Parquet Courts all playing there over the two nights. The main festival itself kicks off at the Parc Del Forum on Wednesday 22nd May, with The Vaccines and Delorean heading a bill that also includes hotly tipped US trio Guards and skatepunk duo The Bots.

The main event itself gathers momentum the next evening for the following three days, where over 200 artists will perform across eight different stages until the early hours of Sunday morning. However, as in previous years, that isn't where the fun ends, as there'll be a series of free shows on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May in the Parc De La Ciutadella featuring the likes of Merchandise, The Babies and Mac De Marco, while Sunday evening's closing ceremony at the Sala Apolo will see performances from Deerhunter, Come and The Orchids among many others.

Wu Tang At Coachella – Legendary Rap Posse Dominate Despite Sandstorm

Wu Tang Clan Red Hot Chili Peppers

Of all the natural phenomena that could have threatened Wu Tang’s performance at Coachella, a sandstorm was the most ridiculous, and therefore, the most appropriate. The rap-group certainly overcame that obstacle to deliver a dominant performance.

"No disrespect to none of y'all," Raekwon reportedly told the audience during the set on Sunday night, "but we came to steal this sh--tonight." They then went on to play all their hits to an adoring crowd. Adoring doesn’t really cover it; they were raucous (but still adoring). A tribute to Ol' Dirty Bastard included renditions of "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and "Brooklyn Zoo," respectively. On Friday (April 12), they announced that their new LP, A Better Tomorrow, will be released in July. It's their first album as a complete group since 2007's 8 Diagrams, which didn’t go down well with the fans and critics alike. Ghostface – perhaps the most successful soloist form the group – has new material out too. His new album, Twelve Reasons to Die, is in stores tomorrow and the group will be back at Coachella for its second performance next weekend.

UK Dates Announced For Wu Tang Clan 20th Anniversary Reunion

Wu Tang Clan

The New York hip-hop legends Wu Tang Clan will be reuniting and playing the UK in celebration of their 20th anniversary. Featuring such iconic members as RZA, Raekwon, GZA and Ghostface Killah, the band are scheduled to perform a one-off dates in Manchester and London. On July 25, 2013, they will play Manchester’s O2 Apollo and the following day, they head to London to play Brixton Academy.

The band are releasing a brand new track ‘A Better Tomorrow’ to mark the passing of two decades since the release of their debut album Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). RZA, whose real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, explained why the group felt that it was the right time to get back together, twenty years after they first catapulted to fame. And it sounds as though they’re trying to correct some of the imperfections that crept into their legacy. “We need to, one time, completely, efficiently, properly, professionally represent our brand. One more time. But this time, showing up on time for press and for concerts and studio. Do it one time, perfect… This may sound unbelievable, but I told the crew in the first basement meeting that from my calculations, and from what I’m feeling, this will last 20 years.”

Sadly, the band are, of course, missing original member Ol’ Dirty Bastard who died aged 35 back in 2004. RZA remains keen to press on with the reunion, despite the absence of his old band mate, though, Gigwise reports: “There's enough of us still alive, and I think there's still enough fans out there. Hip-hop is stronger than ever, as far as worldwide recognition, and our name is synonymous with it.”

Bonnaroo 2013 Lineup: Paul McCartney, Wu-Tang Clan, R KELLY!?

Sir Paul McCartney Wu Tang Clan R Kelly Tom Petty

The Bonnaroo 2013 lineup has been announced, with former Beatle Paul McCartney and Grammy winners Mumford & Sons topping the bill at the June event in Manchester, Tennessee. Other topline guests include veterans Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Icelandic singe Bjork, Wilco, the Wu-Tang Clan, A$AP Rocky and R. Kelly.

"Top to bottom, this is one of the strongest lineups we have ever had," Bonnaroo spokesman Jeff Cuellar said in an interview. "Looking at the festival landscape out there ... no other American festival has Mumford & Sons, Paul McCartney and Bjork all under one roof." The revellers at Bonnaroo - among the top live gatherings of the year - will no doubt agree, and this year's diverse lineup appears to offer something for everyone, particularly lower down the bill. Up to 100,000 fans will flock to the annual festival to see singers, comedians, arts and movies while enjoying unique performances from the likes of Weird Al Yankovic and ZZ Top. Former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne will also be in attendance, performing with St Vincent.

Though many have praised this year's Bonnaroo lineup, many long-time fans have been left with a palpable sense of déjà vu. Mumford and Sons appeared at the festival in 2011, while Tom Petty closed the main stage in 2006. Wilco, Animal Collective and various other acts have also played prominent slots over the years.

What, No Holograms? Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix, Red Hot Chili Peppers Headline Coachella 2013

Coachella Blur Stone Roses Yeah Yeah Yeahs Modest Mouse Lou Reed Jurassic 5 Phoenix The XX New Order Nick Cave Grinderman Wu Tang Clan Social Distortion Tupac Shakur

How do you top having a dead man headline your festival? Well, in all honestly, you’re not going to. Coachella’s talent bookers must have been scratching their heads in bewilderment when it came to topping last year’s Tupac hologram and they’ve done the best they can, given the lack of deceased artists willing and able to play Coachella 2013.

The two Friday nights (the festival takes place both on April 12 – 14 and April 19 – 21) are looking like a highlight for fans of the Britpop revival, with Blur and Stone Roses lending a very British end to the evening. A newly invigorated Yeah Yeah Yeahs (well, Karen O’s dyed her hair blonde, does that count?) also play the Friday, as well as Modest Mouse, Lou Reed and Jurassic 5. Saturday has the French band Phoenix headlining, in support of their recently-announced new album. They’ll be preceded by British electronic gloom-pop band The XX, as well as Postal Service and New Order. The line-up for the Sunday nights is a slightly heavier one, with Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds making yet another return (Cave will be raking it in that weekend, as his other band Grinderman also play the Fridays), Social Distortion and Wu Tang Clan.

Coachella always has an impressive array of legendary / stalwart alternative acts as well as the hottest new bands you’ve only just heard of. What they haven’t got, is anything that’s going to grab the headlines, or the public’s attention in the same way that Tupac’s hologram did.
