Wynonna Judd 's husband Cactus Moser has lost his left leg after a motorcycle crash on Saturday (August 18, 2012). He had his leg amputated above the knee at a Rapid City hospital this week, reports the Los Angeles Times.
According to a statement from Judd's representative, his leg was "severed at the scene of the accident". She and Moser had been riding motorcycles before their show in Deadwood, South Dakota, when he drifted across the center line of the road and collided with an oncoming car. Moser, a drummer in Judd's country band, also had surgery on one of his hands. The couple say they "appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans". Moser, who was taken to hospital via helicopter, is being cited for driving on the wrong side of the road and for not having a license to operate a motorcycle. Judd cancelled numerous shows following the accident, and vowed, "Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply, and I will not leave his side".
Wynonna Judd married Michael during an intimate ceremony on the country singer's farm in June 2012. Judd has been married twice before, though told US Weekly magazine at the time that she couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding.
